So where do I start.
I have been an owner of several Talons.
I am not 100% sure why I am obsessed with Talons, but I believe it has to do with my Dad owning an Eagle Vision.
I convinced a girl I liked at the time to also join the obsession.
I found her this Talon on craigslist that was perfect price of 5250$ at 100K miles
It is a 1996 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD.
I went out to buy it from some kid.
I chatted with him for a couple days and he told me all about it.
The punk lied to me telling me it just had the timing, waterpump, and spark plugs done.
When I arrived to meet him, it was already dark and I forgot my tools, but since we drove so far, we didn't have a choice.
The car ran absolutely great. The girl (my girlfriend now) loved it so we bought it.
All was great for a month or so until shifter cable snapped.
Fixed it up- Fast forward another month and then she was hit by another woman and scrapped up the car. While it was in the shop. Some kid drove it to the wash it and it came back with a knocking noise. :banghead:
Well we thought it was crankwalk but the crank pulley just ripped to hell.
That's when I decided it’s a good to actually do the timing belt and water pump.
Well I got that all done by a mechanic who was nice enough to show me how to properly do it since I have never done the job.
Fast forward a week, my girlfriend was driving home and the turbo coolant line blew off. I went out to a parking lot and fixed it up. As we drove around the car seriously overheated. We got it back to my shop, changed out the thermostat and all was back to good.
Then put on OEM new exhaust gaskets due to leak.
Week after that. Coolant line that blew off cracked and melted. - Replaced all was good for a day. Still leaked. Now it magically stopped.
Now that I got the ECMlink, it has mostly been running fine.
For my GF’s Christmas present, I decided to customize her car.

Mods are
ECMlink V3
3.5in Turbo back with a high-flow cat
16g turbo
Manual Boost Controller
Mangacore Sparkplug wires
VRSF FMIC
Tial BOV
LC1 MTX wideband
AEM boost gauge
Short Ram air intake
780cc injectors
Walbro 255

Will be posting pictures of the trunk soon!

Went from Full Grey interior to completely Murdered out

Shout out to my good friend Fullthrottle7 for helping me out with mechanical and electrical problems!

If anyone has questions on my build shoot me a message!

Looks really good man. Only thing I don't like is the unnecessarily tall shift knob. Interior is amazing clean.

Thanks a lot! You and me both, my gf insisted on keeping it...

Looking good dude! Interior came out great, really looks awesome and sets off that red paint even more. Pretty cool you'll have both of them running strong this year, keep up the good work and we'll be able to hit the track before too long!

That kinda sucks.... my girlfriend was going to suggest something at one time and I stopped her mid sentence and said no, not happening. Have no idea what she was gonna say.

Hahaha well its her car or I would do the same LOL

Thanks bro, next is buying racing seats, carbon fiber hood and hatch, and repaint the whole car grey

Max, never saw any full interior shots til now. Car looks great. DON'T PAINT IT GREY! Red already looks soooo good.

You do need 2gb talon gear on it tho :thumb:

Thanks man! Really, I thought dark grey with carbon fiber would look better. Thats a couple months away anyways! Might have to keep it Red then:thumb:

Pretty Sweet Talon! I agree with Ricky. 2GB talon FTW!

I appreciate it! Well i have the spoiler removed completely. Only thing in 2gb that i really want is the bumper!

Tyler and max, what did you use to paint the interior plastics, is it durable? I need to paint my tan i hate it duplicolor perfect match seems to be shitty on plastic. However it was effin cold when i attempted to paint.

Car looks great

I miss all my washington dsm buddys :(

Well which color do you currently have and what color are you trying to paint it?
Mine i used used Duplicolor Wax and Grease remover (can use paint thinner) to clean it down
Then I scruffed it with scotch brit Red pad all around
Then another clean up with the wax remover
Then coat of adhesive spray
Then multiple coats of interior paint

My problem is I went from grey to black, So anything you kick or scratch will come off, but it does not flake. The only things I need to touch up occasionally is the doors. Touching it will not fade or remove it.
Been going on about 2 months and still looks fresh.

When painting you definitely need good weather. When there is moister in the air, the paint drys in blobs and looks awful.

This is a perfect project who has a grey/black interior and want to go full black. I used SEM interior paint because they are the only ones that sell by the gallon and I am not impressed. The paint isn't that durable, but then again they are also the cheapest. To do the whole car took me a gallon.

Definitely get the best adhesives spray so the paint doesn't come off when you look at it wrong.

Duplicolor Rattle cans are great when doing little plastic pieces, so you don't waste a lot of paint with an air gun. I did the entire upholstery with 2 cans and it came out perfect. Just do light coats or it will have a chucky texture

Max did the whole interior and really took his time to prep well, only things I've had a small hand in is motor and electrical work so far. The coloring throughout the whole interior matches very well even though there is a mixture of product used. Surprisingly like he mentioned, the plastic panels are harder to keep from getting scratched through than the seats themseslves. More porous material in the seats and leather to hold the paint I guess. Honestly what I've seen work great in the past as well is the RIT dye. Many of the paints are getting so good now and are a fraction of the cost its hard to pick which route to go. I've seen shitty results from each and great results from each, Max definitely is one of the best paint conversions I've seen and again like any paint project, its all in the prep!

Max, if you're thinking of doing body work and paint and want the 2gb talon stuff, our other friend Jordan is parting his spyder out that he was doing the conversion on. He has freshly sanded and primed 2gb talon front and rear bumpers for sale right now and I'm sure he'd take care of you as a local instead of dicking with shipping them. I'll ask him what he is looking for I know they usually get nearly $400 at this point since you can't really get the cheap Certifit copies everywhere! That would be one sweet ass ride at that point, but I really do like the red and black combo I'd keep it!

Sadly I'd be going from tan to black. And yeah scratches would be hell. But i feel it would hold up better than plasti dip

Tan to black would come out great. Especially since all that actually gets touched is black. If its done right it will come out great. Beware of plasti dip, i tried and hated it, looked awful

I definitely want to but next in line is Carbon fiber.
