LOL. I know that I took a chance with the cheap white LEDs but I will also be taking a chance once I get into the RGB LEDs as well. I still have no clue who makes a good superflux style RGB LED. As for the markers, I am really thinking of sealing them with black RTV in case I do have to get back into them.

I am sure you would be able to get rid of them both quick with the quality of work that you put into them. I have yet to do my first headlight retro and your going on your 4th LOL. Can't wait to see what you have planed for the next one.

I have .5v LDO Sharp regulators both in 9v and 12v. The whites are only going to be on when the car is running and the ambers are going to be on the turn/hazard signal. I don't want the whites on at all when the car is off. I have other things planed for that when the time comes and they will be in the headlights.

When I go to do the tail lights, They will be regulated @ 9v. That way they will still be able to be used as hazards.

As long as you don't run into issues with the fronts running as hazard when your engine is off and your battery voltage is below 12v :) Looks good so far, brings back a lot of (mixed) memories haha

Hopefully they work out for you in the long run Ray.

I might be selling my current markers and headlights in the future once I finish my uC design and do retrofit number 4 haha, this is a sickness.

I'll say. I only went through one revision for the actual LED boards, but over 20 major/minor revisions of the uC/power supply boards.

Check out Digikey for quality RGB LEDs. There has to be something in a superflux package.

I'm sure I could sell them but I don't know if I will get what I want for them when the time comes. There's lots of quality parts and time into them so they are worth a nice bit just in that retrospect.
Next retro will be LS460Rs from TRS, best of the best and hopefully the last retro I will ever do.

That is a big reason I'm choosing to do 9V regulators in my build (plus azdave used them and he's smarter then me LOL).

I'm on revision 3 of my boards now, I'm happy with how they are now. Still on revision 1 of the uC/Power Supplies (might be separate boards still, we'll see). I need to get working on them more but I lack motivation now with the new job (working on rotation so it's hard to have enough spare time).

Hope we aren't scaring you Ray LOL!

Nope, no fear here. I'm very confident with the soldering and my math as far as the LEDs are concerned.

Just with using the cheap white LEDs that are known to be iffie on the way they work is my only concern.

Good call on looking at digikey or mouser for a RGB superflux package. I didn't even think about it.

The whites inside the sidemarkers are going to ran from a entirely different switch than the rest of the lights so that way there will be no interference with the rest of the lights. They will be ran off of the same switch as my halos and I only use them when I am driving or in a drive through.

I figured that I would keep this thread going a little bit and update it. I haven't had time or the components that I need to work on anymore LEDs so I've been doing other little things to the car.

I am waiting on some P-Chanel Mosfet transistors as we speak to give the side markers the switch back effect. Once they get here I will be able to finish the side marker instal and get a video of how they function. When the install is finished, the markers will function like so:

Turns/hazards = Amber

Arm/disarm alarm, Door open/close, Side marker = Whites.;)

Why the doors you may ask? Well with the help from some good people over at HIDPLANET, I was able to help spyderdrifter with something that he and other members have been wanting to do. That was to have lights flash when arming/disarming the factory alarm with the key fob. I was intrigued when I first started trying to help spyderdrifter figure this out and now that it is, I will be utilizing it. In order to do this mod, I had to tap into the door circuit so every time the door is open, the lights on this mod will come on. However, when you close the door, you get the same cool fading effect that the mirror/foot well lights have.:thumb:

With all of that said, I do have some teaser pics of them lit up on the car.

Once I have the Mosfets, I will take a video of how everything works. Stay tuned for more updates!:applause:

I still haven't gotten around to wiring mine up yet, too much going on sadly. However I now have a GSX to do this mod to as well :D I will be trying to get it done soon though and can post a video once I do. I appreciate your help with it :thumb:

Well everyone, it has come time for me to post that this is no longer happening to my Eclipse. I have parted out and sold off the car and no longer have a DSM. I do have another car but it's not even in the Mitsubishi family. I am off to join another community and hope that they are just as great as this one. I will still check in from time to time here on tuners to try and help out with any questions regarding LEDs and wiring.

Thank you everyone for the interest in my thread!

This is going to be quite the under taking. I once saw a set of full LED Eclipse tail lights, but never found anyone selling them. Too bad you didn't get to finish the project!

Hope you enjoy your new project vehicle! I'll probably have mine forever. I live only about 100 miles from what is possibly the best DSM/Evo shop on the planet (English Racing) and that does help!

Yeah it was fun while it lasted and I learned a lot from it. It would have been nice to finish them but time just didn't allow for the full rear to be done.

Well I would have kept mine (or get another one later in life) but my wife and I have a second child on the way and the Eclipse was crowded with just the 3 of us LOL. I ended up getting a 4 door to better suit the family. I was looking at lancers (gts or better) but I found a Mazda 6s that I fell in love with. I will be using my knowledge towards it to make it original.

I found my old GST the other day in the salvage yard and it still had the LED tails I built for it. So like any logical person, I bought them back. Gonna gut them since the lens are cracked and the housings are a little warped. But will be nice to have them again now that I got 2 DSMs.

These are the lights....
