I am wanting to delete my heater core not just loop lines. I there is some welding on the t-stat i have to do and was wanting help on that. Do i delete the lines that go for heater core to t-stat is that correct? And also do i have to worry about over heating in summer that's when it will be drove? I have been resurrecting and found i can get a 1g t-stat and pipe correct? Any help is great thanks.
 
There are two lines that connect to the heater core from the thermostat housing. You follow them back to the thermostat housing and those are the ones you shut off. Very simple.

Under normal conditions your heater core should not have been critical to keeping your engine temps in the correct operation range, so no you should not worry about overheating.
 
ok Im in Colorado i forgot to put that also. And the two black hoses that go in fire wall. Yea i found them and was looking at best way to do this. I will weld t-stat hole closed and cut and weld pipe for coolant correct?
 
Ok so if i do take mine out i should run a by-pass hose like in link? This will be a safer way correct ?
 
What is your reason for wanting to remove the heater core? This will make the car virtually undrivable if you are driving in rain, or a with a lot of humidity due to the fog on the windows. If it is a 100 percent track car than have at it, but if you are driving it on the street i would highly advise keeping it because trying to drive with fogged glass is awful.
 
For what it's worth you can get by in the rain by using Rain-X Anti-Fog treatment on the interior glass.
 
Car will only be driven in good sunny weather outside. It will only be a summer weekend driver. Nothing big. The reason is for fuse box relocation. The cars engine in still working on and i know i want to make it cle an as possible. I will be just driving car here in town and 20miles to next town. I will trailer it if i go farther to drags or anything.
 
You don't have to weld the ports on the t-stat housing. You can simply twist out the nipple with a pair of vise grips, get a 3/8" or 1/2" npt tap, and get a matching npt plug. I have done this for all of the extra lines that I no longer use. Lines like the FIAV line, turbo coolant line, oil filter coolant line, etc. Maybe not as clean as welding, but certainly easier.
