So, my belt has been squeeking pretty bad, and I realised I can pretty easily move my alternator. For whatever reason, I dont have the tensioner on the alternator. I manually pressed down on the alternator, and tightened it at the pivot bolt before and that seem't to work but it no longer does.

Is there another way to keep the alternator tight without using the oem tensioner?

The thread on the alternator itself probably stripped off, try using a nut at the end of the bolt to tighten it up.

hey i had a simlar problem but for me i put the nut on and everything and the car drove good no squeaking then randomly i start the car and its squeaking and i come out and look and the upper bolt with the block and the other bolt are gone. Anyone know where i can get an oem metal block thing with 2 oem bolts?

For a 1G with manual transmission: [RESOLVED] Broken Alternator Mount Bracket

For a 2G, the part number is MD169048.

Those part numbers will come with the bracket, the block, and the tensioner bolt. Both use MF140233 for the locking bolt. The 1G with auto transmission uses MD151484 for the bracket, MD147194 for the locking bolt, and has a washer for the locking bolt that is MD001521.
