Fully weight-optimized pistons for passenger car gasoline engines are forged from high temperature resistant aluminum alloys. Based on advanced casting technology, ECOFORMŪ pistons offer low weight and high structural rigidity. The piston skirt is very often coated with a GRAFALŪ layer. This break in skirt coating uses graphite which becomes a lubricant at high temperatures allowing unscuffed skirts during the roughest part of a pistons life!
