Last coupe pictures I took of the GSX and my V from delivering her. The GSX was a champ to the end and I got one last fun 200 mile cruise out of her to deliver to the buyer.
Well, as of Jan 4th 2018. I no longer own this GSX. It has gone on to it's new home and happy owner. Lots of memories were made and I'm looking forward to modifying my CTS-V.
So a crazy thing happened today, I bought a 2011 CTS-V Sedan. So after 12 years of loving and working on my GSX it is time for us to part ways. I'm about to make the for sale post. I'm pretty sad about it but I do love the extra space and awesomeness that comes with the V.
I have a synapse engineering BOV on a 1G flange running 35psi. It can be recirculated no problem. I have been running the same one for almost 10 years with no problem.
I autocross with a 7-blade HX-35 in the .55A/R DSM housing on a 2.0l. It is fun but far to laggy to be competitive. I don't get full boost until 4200 RPM it does have 12psi at 3200 RPM but doesn't come alive and get over 30psi until 4000 RPM. I ran this same turbo on a 2.3l previously and it hit...
My guess would be that since we didn't get an evo until the 8 in the U.S. they are commonly only listed as 8-9 because 5, 6, and 7 are very rare here and not likely to be found.
I mostly do autocross events, with a few track days here and there. I had no issues while running the stock oil pan but like most people on here that have a 6-bolt I put on the Moroso pan as a precaution. Of course I would love a dry sump system but I have trouble bringing myself to spend $5k+...
I took a look at the service manual to see if there were any checks that can be done on the fan and there really isn't anything more than apply battery voltage and ensure that the fan spins. This could be beneficial to turn on the fan with the engine off to see if the fan motor is making any...
Sounds like the voltage regulator built into the alternator is faulty. I have a gallant alt from advance auto that behaved the same way. To much voltage is dangerous for your ecu and other electronics
Sounds like the passenger side fan isn't flowing air like it should. The AC on should make the problem worse as it adds more heat in front of the radiator. But the drivers side fan kicking on with the AC must be what is helping you out.
