This is what I would do in this situation: bolt the tcase to the transmission, and bolt the broken part on as well, after getting it lined up as best as possible. Next, take a side grinder along the crack on the side opposite the t case mating side to create a valley, then have him weld it-...
Which 68hta is it? The newer one, or the old style, Mitsu chra based one? If the former, you should do as they say, if its the latter, run it off the head. That said, if it is the Mitsu chra based 68hta, then the hole in the oil inlet is already quite small. The chra that FP designed has a...
It was an XTD cheapo that i put in while waiting on my Southbend to get fixed. Got the Southbend in it now. Heres the turbo comparison. Car runs great again, and Im putting it up for sale I think. Im just not feeling it anymore, and I never get to the road course or stip to play with it anyway.
I was about 2 blocks away when it happened. Ive got it all back together now, and the transmission shifts great still. Turbo center section came in today, so after work, Ill get a side by side picture to compare the damaged vs new comp wheel.
Im so glad it wasnt the flywheel, id have to junk the car which would suck cause i rebuilt it from the ground up. I saw a video a while back of a CRX at the track and when the flywheel blew, the entire front end of the car just went bye bye! Im going to make a scatter shield for mine cause im...
Its coming along. Slowly. This is a stage 4 TRE trans, with all EVO III gears, so I really dont want to mess it up. After cleaning and painting the donor bellhousing, the paint didnt match the rest of the case, so I had to paint the rest too. Lots of friggin prep and cleaning. Now that Ive got...
I played with the gears every way i could on the dyno. Well, exept for going over 5 advance on the exhaust side. It did go up to about 322 ish torque on one of the runs but hp was down to 372 or so. Im actually fine with the low torque as it will keep the transmission alive. Jon at TRE told me...
Pulled the valve cover, no tossed rockers. Bogus SVO came over and did a leakdown test, and the most leakage was less than 10%, so thats good. Ive been repairing things as I go. Fixed the intake pipe, wires and got a new upper and lower thermosstat housing all blasted, painted and ready to go...
Theyre a really cool shop, man. Just got moved into a bigger place, and theyre having a meet Feb 6th, I think. You should go. Im going to try and make it.
Not sure. The thermostat housing was shattered too and the maf was no longer connected to the turbo and it wont run like that.. Valvetrain was built well, so i hope not. I shift it a tick past 8k and its always been fine and still makes power there.
No kidding. Your success with it is the reason i put it in as a temp solution but i left it in there cause it was working fine for daily driving and even pulls. I even dynoed the car with it. Ive spun the wheels in the wet, gotten sideways playing and shifted real fast with it and it always held...
