Wellllll even though it's clearly months later, the car was successfully swapped. It came crunch time to finish the car in time for dyno day so this kinda went on the wayside. Basically after the subframe is in, it's nuts and bolts. Swap the awd trans in, bolt the transfer case on and then slide...
Not a clutch. Just did SB clutch, OEM throw out bearing and clip, shift fork and pivot ball.Tearing apart trans today. First one I've ever done. Anyone able to point me to a thread that helps troubleshoot trans issues once inside the case?
Already did the shifting it by hand. Feels like it goes into first and second but when ya push the car ya hear the gears slipping. Tried to shift it into gear and start but no difference, just grinds.I'm leaning more towards a trans issue inside. Me and my buddy debated and I came to the...
Shifter cables are good. Retaining clips are installed on the shifter base as well as the trans mount. They are also installed properly on the counter weight and the shifter itself.
I just finished up my AWD swap last week. Put the car down and pulled it outside in first gear with no issues. Got in it today to pull it back into the garage and I have no 1st or second gear. Not sure what's going on. 95 gst swapped with late model trans and tcase. Lsd rear.
The last 2 days have been kinda slow as I decided to shave the bay. I've put a good amount of time into it and it's not perfect but I wasn't striving for it to be that way. The paint though.... got dayum! Aside from the engine bay, the tank and subframe are in. Basically once you weld the tank...
Today was a very long day. We started the day by removing the front drivers seat and center consol to get to the e-brake cables. You have to unbolt the airbag sensor and the bracket that it sits on to get to them. Make sure the handle is down before you ride the struggle bus to remove the cables...
Yesterday was the beginning of the AWD SWAP. Everything went pretty smoothly as myself and my group of buddies/family have pulled an engine more than a dozen times. For those that don't know where to even start when pulling an engine, ya basically get rid of the caveman elements as Jafromobile...
I'm starting this thread as I am going awd this week. I'll be sure to post threads of each section of the AWD swap as its coming along. Me and my best friends have already swapped a 98 spyder that had a built bottom end. It had an hx35 that was maxed out at 32.6psi. It made about 530 awhp on...
Thanks for the link. I knew the 2 were different because of the teeth me and buddies just never realized that the teeth were actually pressed onto the flywheel. Has anyone ever had one pressed off to be pressed onto a new flywheel?
