Oil should be at 200+ degrees to do it's job. Move to a thicker oil may hurt you more then help you. Since 90% of engine wear happens at start up from lack of lubrication at start up a thicker oil will take longer to get to your parts. Good rule of thumb is 10psi per 1000x rpm. So play around...
Buy a 6 bolt block with just a crank.. Get some 1g rods with 2g pistons/ or evo 8 pistons. Acl bearings, Engblder Valves, valve guides, and 3g lifters, delta 272's and done deal. What else do you need on a daily driver.
