2G OBX FWD LSD speed sensor help !

They're fine as long as you make sure the gears that the axles slot into are chamfered to enable the clip to slide, and that you replace the Belleville washers inside with pieces that won't break.

So what are you working on that’s NOT your DSM?

Fixed the problem areas on an OBX LSD for my Neon. I was surprised to find one of these Neon/420A LSDs for sale from a wholesaler in 2023, couldn't really say no at $400 when the alternative is $900. The issues with the OBX are the fact that it likes to jam axle circlips due to poor machining...

    RockAuto.com Discount Code - Expires April 2, 2024

Fresh code for those who need it - 262392087237257235 - expires May 3rd, 2024. Edit: I hadn't refreshed this tab in a while and see I was beaten to it. Oh well, you can't have too many Rock Auto codes.

Autocross Build Evo 1 - Going Overboard

Bare shell resto would be at least two more years. I could have it on the road next summer, but it's a bit silly to install a whole car's worth of brand new hardware and refreshed parts, just to put them on a chassis that needs work, and eventually pull it all down again in the future to do the...

Autocross Build Evo 1 - Going Overboard

Back at it today! Had some time to kill with the holiday so I drove out and did some more wrenching. The transfer case is back in and the driveshaft no longer drags on the ground, which is a win for transport. Then came some further testing with the turbo kit. The setup is a pain to install...

Autocross Build Evo 1 - Going Overboard

Spring is here (ish), which let me move the Evo out from its out-of-town, climate-controlled storage, and into the shop on the other side of the building. The first priority for today was to get the transmission into the car, so that the car can be flat-bedded to my house when a spot opens up...

What did you do to your DSM today?

Eight years after buying the big boy IWG EFR turbo, and three years after getting the hot parts kit from Morrison Fab to make it work. I’ve picked up a low-profile wastegate actuator to tuck the canister as much as possible. It’s probably not going to fit with the stock rad where it is, but will...

Resolved 1G exhaust manifold known to crack?

The Evo 1-3 manifolds all crack, too. They're not immune.

1G and 2G AWD Intermediate Shaft Repair Parts

This is definitely a helpful post, I went through the same ordeal but didn't want to deal with finding the correct seals and shipping individual tiny parts to Canada at $20/ea, so I ordered a MB526956 shaft rebuild kit from Mitsubishi instead (surprisingly still in stock at $60ish US). Then I...

    Vroom.

Nice work. Are you dealing with Competition or Piston Ring? I just dropped off my Neon cylinder heads at PR today - they did my block & crank work, and they've done family projects for decades. In case you're considering selling the ol B16G, I'm not against taking it back in the future either...

    WTB Recaro Seats/DBW

I don't have seats, but I have a 65mm DBW throttle body from an Outlander that bolts to stock manifolds. You'll need a pedal from any junkyard Mitsubishi.

Resolved Can someone please help identify this turbo please!

No, Evo 4-9 turbos spin the opposite direction and are not worth the trouble to fit.

Ported 2G manifold vs. FP race manifold

The Evo 1-3 manifold would be the best match, FP will just introduce lag for little/no power benefit.

2G Can new OEM 95 piston's be purchased anymore?

Amayama is notorious for this, and for overcharging on shipping. If anyone can get them in North America, it's JNZ. Also look into Evo 1 or 2 pistons (don't use Evo 3), which are 8.5:1 equivalents.
  15. Canadian_CD9A

    Evo 9 / Evo 3

Yes. Do not even consider an Evo 4-9 turbo for our cars, it's way too much trouble to make it work when there are simple, bolt-on solutions.
