About the Buyer/Seller Feedback System

This feedback system is meant to be used for all transactions between members of our site by way of our Classifieds section. Every DSMtuners member has a Buyer/Seller feedback rating which is displayed as a numeric rating in their Profile. If you click on the number, you're taken to a page displaying comments from other members they've bought from, sold to, or traded with.

For example: Bob (12) means that the DSMtuners member with the user name Bob has received positive feedback from at least 12 other site members.

This system is only to be used for private party transactions - not transactions that involve a parts retailer or service provider.

How it works
The feedback rating system is easy. You receive:
+1 point for each positive comment
0 points for each neutral comment
-1 point for each negative comment. Ratings and comments will not be removed or adjusted for anyone due to complaints. If we determine there is clear evidence of a fraudulent claim, we'll consider taking action on our own. Do not request us to take action just because someone gave you a negative rating, as we will do so only if we see fit.

When to check a users' rating
Before you send money to a member, the buyer may want to check the seller's feedback rating by viewing their Profile (clicking on their name). Sellers may also want to view the feedback profiles of potential buyers to see how reliable they've been in the past. Ratings and comments will not be removed or adjusted for anyone due to complaints. Again, if we determine there is clear evidence of a fraudulent claim, we'll consider taking action on our own.

How to leave a rating
After you make a sale, purchase, or trade, remember to leave feedback for the DSMtuners member you bought from or sold to, via their Profile page. This helps everyone in the community know what it's like to deal with that member and can potentially prevent fraudulent transactions (but is not guaranteed). Be sure to leave a descriptive title for the feedback and a detailed description about the transaction, especially if it was a bad experience.

If someone leaves you negative feedback that you feel is inaccurate, DO NOT simply retaliate by leaving them negative feedback. Instead, reply to the feedback left for you and give your side of the story. However, if you had a bad dealing with that member, you can still leave them negative feedback. But the comments must give details about the transaction. If the feedback looks like it is nothing more than retaliation, it may be removed. We will not remove negative feedback for any other reason - in some cases, if the member leaving the feedback requests the feedback they left for a member be changed, we will do so. This means that if you receive negative feedback that you feel is inaccurate, your only recourse is to reply to it.

Notes:
Leave one rating per transaction. Giving false or inaccurate ratings and information will get you banned from DSMtuners. If we suspect someone is creating fake accounts (which is prohibited anyway) in order to give themselves positive feedback or negative feedback to others they will be banned without warning. If you have clear evidence that a user has given a fraudulent rating/feedback to another member, bring it to the attention of our Moderating team. We might not remove any comments or ratings at the request of a member complaint but we will certainly look into the situation. If you receive a bad rating, you will be able to leave your own reply on the negative comment by clicking on the comment and clicking the reply button. The reply feature is only to be used to give your side of the story for the negative rating. We constantly monitor the Hall of Shame section of the Buyer/Seller Ratings page here, and so should you.

In addition to using this buyer/seller rating feature, we recommend that everyone use an escrow service and check other DSM/classified sites to research the person they're trading with. Be sure you get phone numbers, addresses, references, and other important personal information before sending money or parts to anyone. If you do not, you are begging to be ripped off. Our buyer/seller feature should not be your sole source of assurance and should not be heavily relied upon. It is only meant to be used as a complimentary tool. DSMtuners will not be responsible for any loss due to our Classifieds section, and all members should use this service at their own risk. We also will not assist anyone in tracking down fraudulent parties, lost money or parts. Please don't contact us asking us to help in your transaction. It is YOUR responsiblity to take all necessary precautions before entering into a deal, and your responsibility to investigate and act on any fraud that you encounter. Use this Feedback System and if we find that any user receives more than a few bad ratings, we'll revoke their Classifieds privileges. Please do not contact us asking us to ban a user who ripped you off - leave them a negative rating to help warn others. The bad seeds will be weeded out on their own in time.
