Just curious if anyone is here this weekend.

Got here fri 11th and am staying in my brothers RV at the track till sunday.
My brother will be racing 2-4pm..and then back in from 2-4am.
My brothers friend Mike skeen is also going to be here but not sure what time he's getting in the car.
If the weather holds out I'll be doing drone aerial video for them.

Wow thats a nice difference! Someone from europe did a galant V6 Galant swap but quit finishing it, wonder how he is finding it being alot heavier up front?

The guy i talked to had European accent.

And based on the start of the race they were passing people pretty well.

The car my brother was supposed to drive from 2-4 made it 2 laps then started blowing oil out the exhaust.
Bimmerworld is getting them a new motor but they still have to get it, install it, and then get back in the race.
I ended up leaving and coming home right after the car pitted. I was changing clothes to help with the motor swap when my wife called. Her grandfather who is 79. Isn't fairing well and they said they don't expect him to last the week.
So I came home to be there for her and help with the kids while shes at the hospital with him.

Last I heard from my brother about an hour ago, while they waited for the motor to arrive they were at the go cart track keeping loose LOL

Wow those cars really look prepared and good!

What it really got me thinking was that Nissan engine. Uhmm i was in the mindset that what makes the DSM good, was not the chassis but the Engine?
And this literally is telling me that they choose a DSM chassis on purpose, with a different and "better" engine? WTF

Great article, and photos, its refreshing to see a Roadrace related content in dsmtuners

They were busy trying to compensate for the rain before the start so I didn't want to take up to much of there time.

But I have always questioned if a turbo dsm would withstand endurance races.
Most are set up for time attack or hill climb.
These 2 were doing 24hr endurance races.
I should have asked if they swapped motors because the 4g63.. or N/A 2.4 motor wouldn't hold up, but didn't want to bother them. Had I stayed longer I would have gone back and picked there brain.

Since your bro must know of them, get him to ask for there contact details and ask them or get him to ask them

Dont worry i found them, im talking to the owner of the 2 cars now LOL

I found out they had a budget of 100K!!! And they was not allowed to run a twin turbo lump so went NA instead. They went with the V6 as it will handle the 24HR races where as the 4 cyl was too taxing and wont last but are great for 9 second runs alot of the time,

They was planning the 900hp TT conversion was ditched that idea and i dont know HP numbers yet but i have asked if we can chat about the car in more details as i would love to know more

they managed 14 hrs at rhe weekend and had to quit becauze the rain messed up their electronjcs and its the first time out in the rain, i also found this cool picture!

Awesome.

Where are they from?

and a 100K budget for a chump car... damn.

Guess that 100K might have included all the cool matching tool boxes they had like the pros use. Lol

And ya. Coverts in the rain... with open hood scoops directed right into the intake.

I was surprised they were out as long as they were during practice in the rain.

It stopped raining for the start and most of the first day from what my brother said.

But didn't ask him about sunday as they had even more bad luck.. (1st motor lasted 1 lap (was brand new only had dyno time on it blew a piston)... got a 2nd motor from one of there sponsors. That lasted 2hrs before a coolant hose burst and damaged the motor in someway (I had to head into work so didn't as for more details)

They are from FL, next race is at Sebring.

Perhaps the budget is for both cars but im not sure, either way its still 1 heck of a budget
