So im tying to finish my 6 bolt swap in my 97 gst but it wont stay on when we turn the key. I want to say its a wiring problem because im using a 95 gst harness with a 99 black box ecu. Any help please?
 
When turning the key the car will crank and start but will die right after the only way to keep the engine going is by turning the key and it still dies if you dont turn the key again. Engine sounds healthy but just wont seem to stay on. I bought the 1g in a 2g CAS cable for a 97-99. Bought a whole new CAS and ignition switch and still wont fix the problem. I think since im using a 95 harness i should buy the 95-96 cable. I did remove the cruise control and the car does have a turbo timer but i doubt those things are keeping it from staying on.

Not sure If you read that yet. The main difference between 95-96 and 97-99 is the CAS location, on 2ga it's inverted behind the cam. But, you're running a black box ecu so the position of the 1g cas is the same.

When I put a 1g cas on my 96, I put a 97 ecu in to match the firing order. Otherwise I would have to switch wires (or use method 1 which involves an inverter). I made my adaptor harness per magnus' instructions (95-96 method 2 and 97-99 are the same I believe)

I suggest doing the harness or buying it (like I did) and keeping the firing order the same. Some have had some issues with just swapping wires with the car not running perfectly.
