I need some help guys! A few days ago, my car was boosting just fine. Hitting full boost on my 20g around 3500. I was having an issue where I'd break up and missfire if I went above 22 psi. So I did a BLT and realized my BOV would leak around that PSI very badly. So I adjusted it to hold the PSI I wanted.

I took the car for a spin and realized I was getting really late spool. The car would hit 2-3 PSI and stay there until 5K and then spike to 27, knock and I'd let off. I tested the external wastegate and it was opening at 14 PSI like the spring is rated for. I then ran nothing but wastegate pressure and got the same results. Put the boost controller back on, and slowly turned the boost up to see if it would effect anything before the huge wack of power. Next thing I know, the boost controller is all the way down and nothing has changed. So I thought let's try to put the BOV back to where it was before and see if my problem went away. It did not.

Next I thought the external might be stuck open a little and it's not letting it spool and once it does, it doesn't open fully. I had a internal setup laying around and swapped to that setup last night. I made sure the arm could fully open and so did the flapper. I still got the same results, but this time, she only boosts to 20 after 5K. I'm lost and was supposed to get a better tune today. I did notice that there is VERY slight shaft play, but it still spins freely and does not touch anything. Any suggestions?

Did you go back and recheck the BOV? It sounds like your problems started after messing with it. Is the diaphragm in the BOV still good? I used to have a NGR type BOV and know those diaphragms can be a pain. When you BLT, does it hold pressure and slowly bleed off?

I did take the BOV apart and check the diaphragm and it looked good still. Both springs are good too. I tried to undo what I did to the BOV and it made no difference. It very slowly bleeds down now that I put it back the way it was leaking. everything the car is doing, screams exhaust side to me it I didn't touch it until the problem already started
