Very nice, better late then never on a build thread, what else you got planned for the car?
Great build.
Any tips to give us who are planning on going to the track for the first time?
What tires are you on and did you have any oil system modifications before? Know how much lateral G you were pulling in the corners?
Also, did you feel like wrapping your uicp lowered your iats at all? Thanks.
I'm on Direzzas now, but was on the RE71R prior to that. The Bridgestones were a bit quicker in the dry, but I hear the Direzza is a bit faster in the wet. Only oil mods were a 21 row oil cooler and a Magnus rebuildable oil filter. No idea on the G's. Hopefully a buddy can bring some data acquisition stuff the next time we go out.
I read a lot of reports (not from DSM's, though) that the RE71R's can't handle the extended heat of a road course and wear out quickly. What was your experience? I'm on 7 year old v1 RS3's and need to upgrade soon. The RE71R's still seem the favorite for autox but not for road course.
Wow that things jam packed with fun! Pun intended, looks awesome and that costing color on the manifold is a great touch
time to cut the upper rad cross support off and tilt the rad forward! gives you lots more room and less heat getting to it aswell! or drop it and tuck it under the cross support, this could also mean you can run another fan aswellLol. Yeah. I've been saying that if we ever need to pull the rad or the turbo at the track, we might as well pack up, cause it won't happen. And the color of the manifold is the bronze creakote. Absolutely in love with this manifold from Archer Fabrications. Can't wait to try it out.
