Hi, I've searched the forum. I have a 92 GS that I full turbo engine swapped. But I am retaining my NT harness.

The plug for the turbo MAF is different than the one in my NT. So I wondered, can I in the meantime use my NT plug and NT MAF in my turbo setup (stock 13g turbo with 6260 ECU)? The 7th wire is for the barometric pressure sensor which they say is for the boost gauge.

Will I run into any problems?

The seventh wire found on the turbo MAF is not pin 7 and is, therefore, not for the barometric pressure sensor.

The wire the NT MAF does not have is for the MAF reset. On the turbo MAF, that is pin 1.

Read: non-turbo air mas

I have followed the write up Mavisky made for the turbo conversion. I'll give a quote:

7th wire from MAS - the 7th wire from the mas needs to be run back to ECU pin #6. This wire is for the stock boost gauge (which is worthless anyways) so you can skip this step and use the stock N/T MAS, especially if you are keeping the N/T gauge cluster (as it doesn't even have the boost gauge. Either way, make sure you buy a real boost gauge.

Am I reading this wrong?

You're reading exactly what it says.

Unfortunately, what it says is wrong. It is being corrected as we speak.

Aww that is a shame. I do not have the right pigtail on my non turbo harness. I do however have a turbo MAF from a 1g. What is the easiest way to go about hooking it up if I don't have the female plug?

OK. So I have in my possession the 1G turbo female plug. I am figuring out which wire goes to ECU pin 6 or 14.

Right now my NT harness ECU pin 14 is the idle switch (green) ECU pin 6 is free. I am using a 1G MD166260 ECU FWD turbo. On the ECU part number website it said it was manufactured 6/90 till 6/92.

This website confuses me http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ecu-harness-1G.html .
My car is a 92 NT that is getting a full turbo swap minus the harness. I am just adding wires.

So should I switch the wire that is in ECU pin 14 with 6? And add the extra wire in ECU pin 14.

Assuming the case is the original for your ECU, MD166260 is a '91 or '92 model year ECU. All you need to do is add the extra wire from pin 1 of the turbo MAF to pin 6 of the ECU. Pin 14 of the ECU stays precisely where it's at.

For reference, non-turbo MAF pin-out:
Pin 1 - Green with blue stripe, to ECU pin 10
Pin 2 - Red, sensor power wire
Pin 3 - Green with red stripe, to ECU pin 23 and Throttle Position Sensor pin 1
Pin 4 - Green with black stripe, to ECU pins 17 and 24
Pin 5 - Green with yellow stripe, to ECU pin 16
Pin 6 - Green with orange stripe, to ECU pin 8

Turbo MAF pin-out:
Pin 1 - Green with white stripe, to ECU pin 6 for '91+ ECU........ [or ECU pin 14 for '90 ECU]
Pin 2 - Green with blue stripe, to ECU pin 10
Pin 3 - Red, sensor power wire
Pin 4 - Green with red stripe, to ECU pin 23 and Throttle Position Sensor pin 1
Pin 5 - Empty
Pin 6 - Green with black stripe, to ECU pins 17 and 24
Pin 7 - Green with yellow stripe, to ECU pin 16
Pin 8 - Green with orange stripe, to ECU pin 8

So the ECU I have (6260) is not a 91+ ? The website http://simon.chi.il.us/ECU/ECUID.html confuses me too.

But for now I will go with what you said 19eclipse90.
If by any chance they are opposite, It wouldn't do damage to the ECU right? I'll do that tomorrow.
I have to arrange the Resistor pack too. Which I already have a diagram for. Can I let it idle with the NT pump? Not gonna drive it. I have bought a 255 wally. And still need to get a fitting to install the Aeromotive to the fuel rail.

Reread it again. Assuming the case for your ECU is the original, meaning the part number MD166260 is the correct part number for your ECU, it IS a '91 or '92 model year ECU.

If you are uncertain whether or not the ECU is a '91+, check the number (exclude the letter) on the white connector portion of your ECU, as shown in this link: https://www.ecmtuning.com/wiki/ecu1gid. Using that and the link you posted, you can figure out exactly what ECU you have.

In the link I've provided, the number they have as an example is 7380. That is the last four digits of the E2T number of a specific ECU part number in the charts listed from the link you provided. For MD166260, those numbers should be 6574. Hopefully that helps clarify things a bit for you.

Since your harness has no pin at ECU pin 6, that would indicate a '91+ harness. So the solution, in your case and with the assumptions made, is to run the wire from MAF pin 1 to ECU pin 6. It won't hurt anything if they are backwards but it won't idle right either. The fuel pump will be fine for idling as well.

Yes its a 6574!
I thank you very much for taking your time to explain me. I am so careful that it sometimes things confuse me.
I will run the wire to ECU pin 6 like you said. Pin 9 also needs the red wire from the knock sensor. And then I am done with ECU work!
E90 you are a lifesaver!

I am tracing back the injector wires. To install my resistor pack in a stock manner. I traced them all the way back into the thick harness wireloom at the passenger side. There is one thick wire that splices into 4 wires that go to each injector. Did you cut them off at the valve cover height? Or the same way i am doing it

I spliced them near the connectors and put the pack on the fire wall but this was over 10 years ago on my old non turbo car If I remember now tsi.
