I recently pulled out the motor to repaint the engine bay and now have the engine reinstalled and every thing works fuel(tested the fuel with a gauge) and spark but non of the injectors are working I pulled the fuel rail and injectors out as one and set them on the top the motor and cranked the motor and nothing comes out at all.

so my question is what could have happened when pulling out the motor and putting it back in I did not really change any thing to affect that. am I missing some thing easy all the plugs are in and tight and I believe I got all the grounds back where they are suppose to go. would a bad ground cause this.

thanks

i swapped the computer for a different one and test it they still would not fire change out the resister on the fire wall with one I know works nothing happened.

I do not have the fans hooked up yet but I would not think that would cause this. rechecked my grounds they seemed to be good

can someone give me some guidance on what to do I usually try to figure it out on my own but I relly need to get this car running soon.

thanks for all the help so far.

When you repainted the engine bay, did you properly clean all ground points of paint, to ensure that you get a solid electrical connection

+1 on Seamus and Brads posts. Also check connectors which may be corroded or pins not making good contact or locked in place (ie. when connector is pushed together not locked pins won't engage other side well).

well I pretty sure now the cas is fine I swapped it with a known working one and it dose the same as the one I had on there the ecu I believe is ok as well because I tried a known working one ands it dose the same thing. swapped out the mpi relay and still nothing. I went threw all the pins on the ecu and wrote down what voltage they were getting when the key was on not in the start position. I attached a scan of my results witch may not help the least bit but I don't know. I am not very good yet with electrical yet but learning. I am not sure on how to test a ground other then make sure it has continuity. let me know if you have a test I should try ill try any thing I am stumped. and yes I believe I have all the ground on where they are suppose to go and I cleaned all the paint off where they go and cleaned up the end of the wires so the ground should be good. ow and also my ecmlink is showing a 0041; injector circuit malfunction if that helps any. is there any way the injectors could all be clogged to the point they wont work? is there a way to test the injector to see if it will even open.

thanks a bunch for the help so far

Also make sure your injector resistor pack is plugged into the injector resistor pack connector of the harness and not the ISC connector.

I did a test with my test light to see if the injectors were getting pulse or not I hooked up a different cas I had on the shelf that I know works to do the test because I did not want to crank over the engine a bunch

Test one the test light is hooked to the ground I tested each plug they all showed they had power but the light was very dim until I got to the last plug the right pin on the #1 cylinder and it was a bright light and all the others were very dim.

Test two the test light was hooked to the positive as I spun the cas the test light would light up 3 times very dim and one time bright and so on I did all the plugs. only the right pin (looking at it unplugged) would show the pulse but on #2 cylinder the left pin showed the pulse signal.

A few other things I noticed is that the windows do not work now and the door locks are acting funny so I checked the relays in the engine bay and they were warm not hot but defiantly warm so I am not sure if they are supposed to be warm or not. All I have is the key in the one position.

And the resistor pack is getting hot as well not sure if any of this is helpful.

Thanks

Also make sure your injector resistor pack is plugged into the injector resistor pack connector of the harness and not the ISC connector.

Did you verify this? An easy way to tell visually, is that the inector resistor connector should have 5 wires on both sides of the connector, and 1 empty spot. The ISC should have all 6 wires.

Did you do any modifications or changes to the harness when you had it out?

yes I have the resistor in the right plug no I did nothing to the harness. on a another note if every thing was working right (I have the cas off the head and can turn it by hand) as I turn the cas by hand with the key on that should make spark and make the injector fire right. because instead of cranking the car over a 1000 times I just took the cas off to try and diagnose the problem so just to verify that when I turn the cas it should make the injector go to if and when I do get them working.

it running now not great but it runs:hellyeah:. even though I thought I had the plug in the correct spot it turn out I did have the ics plug and the resistor plug switched around rookie mistake:banghead: but I learned a lot from this and furthermore expanded my knowlage of the electrail system in these cars. And thanks to awdguru he has helped me a lot trying to figure this out.

thanks for all the help
