HELP
mounted my rebuilt 420a the other day and in the the rush of getting it done, i forgot to bolt the small black box with vaccume lines that run into it, now with very little room to get behind the motor (decent amount underneath though), I cant seem to find where it bolts up. And i cant find it on alldata because idk what its called.
If someone could get me a diagram or picture of where it bolts up on the firewall, that would be greatly appreciated.

Its for your cruise control. There should be two studs screwed into the back of the block, that where it gets put on with two 13 mm(?) nuts.

The box is not a necessity. Just re route the vacuum line from the cruise vacuum servo and you should be good to go.

I pulled my intake manifold last summer to install a phenolic spacer and I didn't bother re-installing the box...and to my surprise my cruise control still works fine.

That little black box is more trouble than its worth imo. I'd remove it, but then again I have eliminated my cruise control. Weight savings FTW!!!!

A plastic box gets bolted to the engine block? Tht dnt seem right

On the box there is one bolt hole on the top. On the bottom there is 2. The bottom two holes bolt to the block. The one hole faces up top and bolts to the intake manifold and yes 13 mil.

If it is the cruise control you're talking about he meant it gets bolted to the firewall in the passengercorner

Ignore this I thought you wanted to know where the Cruisecontrol mounted. The box your talking about mounts right under the intake manifold stays. I'm actually pretty sure it's 14 mil but I could be wrong. Like said above its one bolt on top 2 on bottom
