I've read that there's a dfference in the front axles on an AWD between ABS and non ABS, is this a fact? If so how can i tell what my trans was originally equiped with?

My FWD has been able to use either one the whole time so i've never had to consider this, please let me know so i can choose the proper front axles for my AWD swap

the abs axles have rings on the actual axle. right next to the wheel hub. on the inside of the wheel hub. its hard to explain, if someone could post a pic. you'll know what I'm saying haha. sorry i couldn't be more help.

The transmission doesn't care if you have rings on your outer C/V joints or not, so either axle will fit.

I know the difference but the trans i'm getting has no axles in it to start with and is not from my donor car. I was told the splines are different. I've been running ABS axles in my non abs car for ages and i don't even knock that ring off anymore.

Abs axles have a ring on the end where it slides into the hub. it looks like a gear with small teeth. You can use either axle abs or none abs there the same length , just one has the ring on it which can be knocked off easily with a screw driver and hammer. the transmissions are the same

ABS and Non ABS Axles are the same.
The only difference is the Ring at the wheel side.

ABS uses the ring, NON ABS doesn't use rings.

If you have ABS and buy a Non abs Axle, You can remove the rings from your abs axle and put it in the non abs axles.

I hope you understand what I just said.

It is like you just said with your GST Axles..
Is the same thing with the GSX Axles.

There is no difference in the spines.

All 2g front axles are the same (abs and non abs).

Not all 2g axles. 420a ones are different.

You don't need to change your axles to switch to AWD though.

The front right is different between auto and manual however.

I was referring to all 2g AWD.

To the OP.

All 2g AWD Axles are the same splines.

There is no differences on ABS and NON ABS Splines (Axles).

How to tell if your car requires ABS..... Look at your knuckle and look on the side and see if there is a plug that is screwed into the knuckle. Should have one 10mm bolt holding it in place. This is your abs sensor. If you have one then use the abs axle! If not then use a non abs knuckle.

WEll my ABS LSD axles are stuck in the hub area, can i spl;it them and put the other regular outter CV end on where it goes to the wheel in order to still run my LSD rear?
