Okay since I've gotten here everyone has said go to Luna performance.......I've given them multiple opportunities for my business, they either didn't have the parts or wanted to charge 300 dollars to install lowering springs.

I called a place called Rpm, who advertises a lot of their parts on Craigslist and seems to have very cheap install prices......95 to install springs. They also have a ton of parts in stock for our cars and for hondas.

Anyone else have some good shop options out here, to get parts as well as pita installs.

The only one I've ever delt with was Luna Performance. Ray is a cool guy and he knows his DSMs. I'm primarily a do-it-yourselfer though so I rarely deal with shops. Also as far as parts, it's hard to beat online deals from MAP, JNZ, ExtremePSI, etc. I never buy performance parts locally.

Some shops I've heard of but not done business with are Speed Factory/Emerg and 7 Autosports (Serg/Tank works there).

i never seem to talk to ray i always get robert. i tend to order aftermarket parts online but its alot better when you dont have to pay shipping on big parts.

i drove by speed factory today, didnt go in but ill probably stop in there tomorrow and check it out.

i usually do stuff on my own as well but dont want to pay the money for a spring compressor , specially since half of my bolts may just snap off from rust. rather have someone hit it with a impact wrench.

Completely understandable. Of course you don't need a "speed shop" to install the springs on your struts, any decent shop can do that for much less.

I've used Emerge a few times to get parts in. They don't stock anything DSM, as he is mostly a Honda shop. Overall, I'd say that I've had an OK experience in my dealings with them. However, I'm very much on the same page as Nate, if it can't be done in my garage... it's time to go to the store!

As far as parts places go, I normally use Summit and Extreme PSI. I did order a few things from Street Tuned Motorsports and JNZ Tuning this week. I'm more impressed with JNZ's shipping (I'm a big advocate of FedEx as they deliver on Saturdays). Locally, you're pretty hard pressed to beat O'reillys as they have a warehouse store in the lower valley. As with all things tho, mom said it best "You get what you pay for".

Good thing I haven't got a 5 bolt motor to take there...WTF

What you've just advertized is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

That is not always the case i've seen $1k-$4k jobs that have ebay brand bearings or dirty hacked jobs from local shops so not just because your paying top dollar dosn't necessarily means your getting the best job/deal for your dollar, that also goes to brands in certain parts.

I think some shops are getting away with this things because of there good reputation

im trying this post LOL but cant find them

They got a new post now it says 6-7 bolt motors but they do costume performance upgrades LOL. Not custom but costume wonder if they do engine dress up kits haha

If you havent got your suspension done yet you can go to autozone and rent a compressor and when you return it you get your money back. Hell the price of the compressor itself isnt bad I bought mine a whiole back cause I used to do alot of suspensions back in ga. Its jacked and needs to be replaced now but autozone is the ticket if you wanna do it yourself.

$95 bucks? Damn i've been charging people like 40 bucks to put springs on. Price hike time! LOL.

This is kinda old I did my shocks springs end links sway bars for free :) and now car is sold . Oh and didn't need a compressor, just laid my fatness on the springs to get the cap on.

hows it going need my talon put back together any suggestions?? i heard luna but also heard they closed

Do you have everything? Head, studs, manifolds, turbo, fuel rail, cas, timing components, etc? If you've got everything ready to go with all the gaskets and stuff I'll help you get it put back together. Maybe a few other guys would like to help too and we can make a meet out of it :sneaky:. What side of town do you live one?

Here is a tech article that covers removing and reinstalling the head. Its long and doesn't have pictures, but it let you see what is involved and make sure you have everything. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-engine-fuel/185236-head-removal-mini-engine-rebuild.html Also a repair manual like a Haynes will be a huge help to you. You can get them at any auto parts store (might have to order it) or online.

yea have everything, the head i should get it back in 1 to 2 weeks and need to buy the gaskets but sounds good that way you can kinda guide me to what head gasket would be best, i have the car on the east side

I'm on the east side too. :thumb: What are your plans for the car? For anything under 30psi of boost I would recommend either a Mitsubishi or Fel-Pro composite head gasket. Mitsubishi is about $55 and Fel-Pro is about $35.

felpro has never let me down i was testing them on my car, leroy(panda talon awd) over heated his like atleast 15 times all the way to "h" and headgasket wasn't even stuck it even looked new but ofcourse nothing wrong with OEM
