can any one help find the specs on this turbo. it was givin to me and I need ato find some specs on it it has a T$ divided ex. housing. numbers are listed below

code: 370-f-70

serial: 8248

part: 4021703

It's a Gleaner tractor turbo and will be terribly inefficient on your car. I wouldn't even try to use it.

Man I must be SOL! I have a tractor turbo on my car and it runs great!;) And a newer version has done 11.2 at 126mph OMG

Pics and numbers are nice, but we still need wheel measurements. We don't know what part number is what with that company. . . We need more details than it is a tractor turbo. . .

I know there are tractor turbo's that work. I have used one. But the only information I could find online was that it was a Gleaner and it was rated for low HP with a massive A/R. A combination that wouldn't work to well on a DSM.

there are no a/r markings on either side

Take the housings off and measure the inducer/exducer of both compressor and turbine wheels and let us know.
With that many single vaned compressor blades on it, it will most likely not be worth the modification to get it on the car.

is there anyone here that rebuilds tubos
You found him....or should I say he found you.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that thing is in HORRIBLE shape. Just look how soaked the turbine wheel is from turbine seal leakage.

Your turbo's labeled a TRW, but it's built by RaJay:

For more info on the RaJay parts kit needed to rebuild this boat anchor, and every reason you shouldn't install this turbo on your car, check out: RaJay Kits

It sure would suck to do all the modifications to bolt this turbo up and have it smoke immediately, then tear it all back off and start over because you can't find a parts kit for a 30-year-old turbo. If you're seriously that cheap, try an eBay GT35R....you'll at least have a 1 in 200 chance of getting one that doesn't blow up in the first 20 miles, which are better odds than what you have with this thing.

Further, Toofast82 is right, and NOW in can agree with Stroked98TSi, as well. Now that wee see the turbo, we can see the compressor design is not favorable for a 4 cylinder. It will have poor high boost efficiency and surging issues having such a large inducer with no stagered blades. The stock 14b has no stagered blades, but has a much smaller inducer diameter and much better blade angle for the axial portion (inducer).

the turo wasnt for my car. it was for a 5.0 mustang that a friend of mine wants to turbo. i will get the wheel measuments as soon as i can thanks for the help

OMG that will be a terrible turbo to work with 5.0L of displacement.

I remember the days when guys saw the hx35 and thought that turbo must push t60 airflow. It was just the compressor cover that was large.

I believe the HPperformance turbo kits for mustangs used to be based off of Holsets. I remember seeing one on a 5.0 years back and it had a holset hybrid on it. Not sure if they still do it? The guy said it ran 11.8 at 8psi, stock motor and automatic. If youve owned a 5.0, than you know what a drain on power the AOD is.
I went on their site and it looks like they are using garretts these days

Yep, believe it or not, garrett components are more affordable than holset. This is why the vendirs migrated. But I still see loads of holset builds, since holsets are so affordable used bcause they are used on so many applications.

well i told him that the company shut down and a rebuild kit would be impossible to find but i was told the if it was to small for the 5.0 it was going on a b18 honda. I thank you guys for the imput on everything. since its not my car and he wont listen, i dont car if he breaks something
thanks for the help again

oh and the oil you say in the picturs is not from the seals. my friend poured oil in the CHRA and on both wheels to try and free it up. we dont know if the seals are bad but if they are its his problem

If that turbo has any purpose to be used after 1971:barf: It would be best suited for a 5psi d15 honda or something. Although it will probably be laggy too. Tell youre friend good luck with it if he uses itROFL
Spend a few $ and avoid disappointment with that thing. T-25 probably takes a s##t on that thing imhoWTF
