dam,I just put in a OEM one in last week too

I hate the plastic end where you connect the upper hose too, replaced the thermostat about last December and I mustve tigtened it atad much and a chunk broke off. lost alot of coolant and the temp went to about 80-90%, still runs good tho

I can't comment on the difference in thickness, but yes it cools much better than the OEM unit.

Unfortunately no as there is no provisioning for mounting of another fan other than the one included.
