I think folks need to be realistic in expecations and their use. If you're looking for a balls out track day kit for your dedicated road racer you're in the wrong thread. Comparing this kit to a 13-14" x 1.25 wide mondo caliper set up is pointless. Clearly...the larger parts have a proper place and I rather those buyers look to my larger kits than be upset that this was not what they'd hoped. It's not a "half price bbk".
If on the other hand, you're contenplating the normal 2G upgrade or looking to waste money on some oem replacement rotors with dimples thinking that those will somehow wake up your brake system this deserves a longer look. Combining said rotors with some decent pads, and ss hoses for many this is the better value. And if you bump it up to the better rotors you'll get a bit more bang for the buck.
If you're a drag racer or AutoXer who's looking for an affordable 'edge' this is also worth considering.
For the real street enthusiast its a helluva deal. And if you had $2500 to spend on big brakes in the first place you probably wouldn't be reading this anyhow!

Thanks.
Well now, that didn't last long...about 30pms and questions and that's all? A couple of seriously interested parties and one sale thus far? I'm a bit surprised. While I'm up front and honest in admitting that this is not the most hard core track set up you could ask for I'm pretty confident in may belief there are a lot more daily drivers who'll never see a track day than those who truly do. For those guys you're looking at a great deal on a kit that will far exceed your expectations. And a price that's just stupid low!
Oh well...I'm glad they fit as I'd hoped and I'm confident that we'll move a few in time and have many happy customers. Now I guess I'll have to lose that deposit on my retirement home...lol

Bump for a great kit, no wonder no one was putting out the specs in a thread I had about this type of kit.
I'll get this from you Todd probably later this year, it will definitely beat the Mitsu big brakes I have on it already with $25 Chinese rotors and green pads.

It wasnt a TCE kit but before I bought the TCE kit I have now I had a kit based on the wilwood NDL caliper it packed a lot of punch in a compact package and was a huge step ahead of what the stock GST came with, my god that was scary. Brake fade stop sign to stop sign. I stopped from some real high speeds on the NDL caliper. They did way more than you would have ever expected from a caliper that weighed something like 3.5 lbs. Its probably more brakes than a lot of guys need.

Very well said. The NDL is/was about the same size. (now called the DP narrow mount...)
If there is any shortcoming here it's rotor mass. And if you run the GT rotor you pick up some bang for the buck at a fair price.
As I've said; if you're looking for the balls out open track day kit, this of course is not it. There are a number of things that come with larger 13"+ kits that make them better for that.
But let's be honest; that's really about the 1%ers out there who would really benefit from a 15lb rotor and .65cf pads.
For the normal enthusiast who hits the track once or two times a year, likes to AutX some and drives the car to work you get about zip value in the bigger kits over this. And for double the cost in many cases. Bigger isn't always better.

Hey Todd, are you going to be listing these new kits on your site? I think some people might be visiting your site looking for them and won't see them. Just something to think about.

I could. The problem is that I cannot list the sales price.
Do you think I should drop my own 12.2s??

I don't think so. You just need to describe the benefits of each. If you can't list the price, at least mention "call for pricing" and specify something to the effect that it's a bargain kit that doesn't offer the same performance of your other kits, but is a step up from the factory DSM brake options.
Personally, I think you need to offer more information on each of your kits and explain why people would want to buy them. Who should consider stepping up to a 13" rotor... who should consider a 1.25" wide rotor... who should consider a 6-piston caliper.... who should stick with the bargain kit.... etc. Talk about specific types of racing and which kit would be best for that. I know it could be tricky, but that's a critical piece of information that can't be found anywhere right now.

I don't disagree with you but I find it's often a balance between not enough info and too much info. One of the down sides to both my various offerings and the factory kits all together is that for many it only goes to make their head spin. It's hard enough at times to work the customer to understand the rotor widths and caliper options now. And I've tried to standardize the web pages a bit to make them clearer to read. I used to do a write up on a kit and leave it at that. But now with the variations it's too long. Sometimes I long for only ONE kit....!

Having so many options makes it a pain, doesn't it?
Believe me Todd, trying to organize information so that the masses can digest it all in seconds before they lose interest can be extremely difficult - I can relate. Balancing between too much info and just enough is all part of the game. Maybe I can email you some ideas if that's okay with you. I think I have a good grasp on your product line and the options. People need to realize that they can get any brake kit from you for their DSM for just about any (reasonable) budget and any driving style or racing application. I think you can modify your message to make that a little more clear.
And you gotta do something about your page load times Todd - those huge images need to be thumbnailed!

Happy to look at anything you have to send.
As for page load times, I think it's your connection. I can load any of the pages in about a second either on cable or DSL. Dial-up; haven't catered to that in years!

I get the slow image load times anywhere I log on, and it's been that way for years. When I do a right click and "View Image" on the slow loading images on your homepage, the actual size of those images is much larger than they appear. That will kill loading time on any connection - especially those poor souls still using dial up.

Left click on them and in Firefox it opens in a reasonable size.
The 3G front is only 276 x 200 to my screen.

Still interested in these. I just had to reask would this be reasonable for a daily use car, that goes to the track like say once in awhile to the track.
And lets say street onces once in a blue moon?
