Other guy complaining about $899 for a 20g, don't buy it if the price doesn't agree with you.

Anybody making comparisons against the 50trim doesn't get it. I see the 20g/TD06sl2 as a way to get the 44-48 lb/min or 440-480 h.p. I want on race gas while still keeping the lag at least tolerable. An EVO 16g isn't enough of a gain to make spending another $600 for me, and a 50 trim has marginal power increase over the 20g with a guarenteed increase in spool rpm.

I can see why vendors are expanding beyond or completely getting away from the DSM platform completely.
I agree with your post and thats why i said i wasn't going to complain i just things were going to happen a little differently. I'm just weighing my options of going bigger now or if i will be good with this turbo for what i want in the future. I'm definitely not trying to go the smaller/cheaper route.

People in the business of selling things aren't supposed to actually try to sell things? Jesus christ.

A dyno graph isn't that hard to come up with or some testimonials. "Here's our uber turbo, buy it with no info about it or how it performs" is not a good way to get people to drop large amounts of money on a product. This is nowhere near a FP bash, they're an awesome group and I've spent $$$ on them on multiple occasions. What I've said above applies to EVERY vendor, this was just the opportunity to say something about it.

You want a vendor to kiss your ass? O.K., good luck with that. Not gonna happen from FP, gonna be the other way around I think. Reread his post. His attitude is, "Tell me why I should buy your turbo and convince me of it". If that guy called and quoted EXACTLY what he posted with the same arrogant attitude I'd hang up on his ass before he finished talking.

And the dyno graph was ALREADY posted on FP's site. I got more information from CALLING FP, stuff they didn't post anywhere because I actually got off my ass and asked the right people about the turbo in the RIGHT way. Never did I tell them, "Hey, convince me why I should buy your product". I can tell you first hand you better know EXACTLY what you want to ask when you call them.

1.This is not the appropriate forum to have this discussion. 2. I regret the fact that you could not even begin to taste the flavor of my humor (directed at the vendor). 3. Your flawed logic and opinions of economics will surely be your undoing. 4. I’ve owned this car for over twelve years and I’m very protective of it i.e. I will not just hang something that’s on sale in the go-box (motor compartment) until I understand it completely. No matter who the vendor is, period!! My one and only DSM. 5. I work for the government and have for well over twenty years. I spoon feed subordinates like you, superiors (want to-be propeller heads like you) and citizens all the time. I’m on call all the time until I die or retire.

So I’ll pass on this deal and wait for something similar on the green, hopefully my second and last turbo purchase in my lifetime, both from Forced Performance!!

Have a nice day, god bless America
John

If they want you to drop nearly a grand for one of their products, they should be asking "left cheek or right, lip gloss or lipstick?"

Back on track guys. Hopefully the guys at fp don't want my head on a stick now.

Looks pretty nice polished...
I think this is a perfect street turbo on a well setup car.

Too bad gas prices and working part time due to attending college are keeping me
from upgrading my turbo anytime soon. Guess ill have to just wait and see what you guys
say about all your big fancy turbos.... lol

***UPDATE***

Well guy's i got a test ride in Amber's 20g-6sl2 internally gated.

Her car is completely bone stock w/ 200k+ miles on her.

I must say it has pretty fast spool up, i believe we hit full boost around 3500 to 4000k wasnt really watching hahah enjoying the ride, it had a nice pull all the way through the powerband and i know with a lil help this turbo can easily see 400+hp imo. It pretty much sold me on the turbo too me it felt just like my buddy's FP GREEN turbo on the hit and the way it pulled all the way through the RPMs.

Thanks for the ride again Amber and it definitely made my decision between the 18g and 20g alot easier FP20g here i come....

Anytime Brian Luke enjoyed his ride too last night, I had him sitting on the laptop for me since I was getting a weird CEL on the way home from the track. We were trying to replicate the CEL with no luck. But he did like the ride, and I never even gave him 100% throttle

My car being stock is a little misleading The bottom end of my motor is 100% stock and it does have 228k+ miles on it without ever being touched. But as far as other mods, here is a quick list of what is on my car:

20g-6SL2 Turbo (internally gated)
FP Race Manifold
Evo III o2 housing
3" to 3.5" Exhaust
FMIC
TiAL BOV
FP 4" Intake Pipe
FP 255 fuel pump
Evo 560cc Injectors
DSM Link

I am currently only running wastegate pressure, but once we get done tweaking the car, should be able to run ~22psi on pump gas without issues on the current set up. Full spool on my car comes at roughly 3800rpm and the car pulls hard all the way to 7k RPM. Unfortunately I do not have any dyno numbers yet, as the car is not quite dialed in to where we feel it should be, but I am hoping once we get it there, I would like to go get some numbers just for curiosities sake.

Brian was asking me about flow numbers for this turbo, so here they are:

The FP 20g-6SL2 turbocharger is a 650cfm/44lb/min turbocharger.

If anyone has any other questions, please let us know and we will try and get them answered for you.

Is there any creep issues with this turbo? I'm looking for a replacement for my EVOIII, else I'll just have to rip the thing apart and port some more Also thinking about getting an tubular internal gated o2 housing.

This turbo rocks. Mines been installed about a month. No creep with a PR SS Recirc Housing and 38mm WG.

The chrome compressor (extra $95) gets compliments
