I have this kit bought it a while back from LaN. It's on a 1990 TSI AWD. The AC does not have to be removed. However the lines have to bent in order to fit the intercooler. The Power steering cooling line does not have to be removed, just bent and moved up. The sides by the radiator do require trimming to fit the pipes. The foglights on mine were kept however the brakets did need some modifying. The crash beam does have to be cut quite a bit and the bumper requires trimming. The overflow container has to be relocated also. I made a new one out of ABS tubing and placed it in the fenderwell where the SMIC used to be. On mine the cruise control had to be relocated. However on the 92 and up I belive the cruise control is mounted on the fire wall and does not require relocation. Overall I really like the kit. It took a couple evenings to install and do a nice job but it was well worth it. I'll try and post pics up in the next couple days.

MadScientist,
Thanks for the good news. Looking foward to seeing pic's. I'd like to see how much the bumper cover has to be trimmed for fitment. Crash beam trimming does not bother me. I just like the car to have a stock appearance without seeing the front is all hacked up. Thanks

I love my kit, the only down side is the bov hits the hood just a little. I do recommend a deep well 7/16 socket is a must for the t-bolt clamps.

What are the intercooler pipes like on this FMIC. I previously bought an UICP from punishment and the pipes are very thin and dent very easy. Also, the flange on the throttle body elbow was very thin.Has anybody had problems like this with the peipes on this front mount?

This Kit is awesome. It took me about 3 hours total to put this together. My only problems were trying to get one of the bolts into the J-pipe flange, and one to the TB flange. And I wish that the BOV flange was closer to the pipe, because mine hits my hood. I'll post pictures later, I got a 1Ga. Everything else is high quality and good to go. Best bang for your buck.

The pipes are not flimsy at all, they are all flared, and the flages are thick. J-pipe is stainless steel, so looks "cool and shiny", while the rest i believe is aluminum.

The pipe quality is excellent. The intercooler is also excellent as well. It took some time to start cutting the bumper support, and I still didnt cut enough. I actually just went ahead and put the front bumper on without it.
I wish I had the time for some pix, but I did not. I was in a rush.

Just bought mine today! I definatley needed to replace that ghetto fabbed one I rigged up on mine. And with all the good things I keep hearing about this kit theres no sense in buying a $1000 kit from Greddy or whoever when this one seems to be holding its own. Cant wait to see that package on my doorstep!

Just received my kit. The core is very big and the pipe quality is not thin or cheap. This is going to look SWEET hanging in the front for everyone to see!

How does everything fit pipe wise? Last time I bought a cheaper fmic I had piping issues some were to short and some had to be put at a hard angle risking the coupler to fall off. So my other question is do I need any additional pipes, clamps, or couplers to make this fit because this car is now my dd and need to get done in one day.

I fitted mine up pretty easy EXCEPT ABS...i hate ABS and so does this kit. you can take the 3 mounting bolt out of the abs hydraulic unit and gently push it toward the battery to barely clear. Other than that it was good. Everything was included down to mounting brackets and bolts. Give yourself more than a day though ### you will probably need it if you haven't done one b4...bumper cutting is a bitch

I talked with you the other day and you mentioned making it possible to use a greddy bov and also the 1g bov. Do you know when these will be out? I want to order one but I would like to wait for these to be made.

Yes this will be my 2nd one. My first one was one a 2g thought. I have a garage and 2 other people to help so it won't take me more than a day as long as the kit comes everything.

What did you have to do to your intake pipe and your charge pipe for proper fitting?
