When they first came out the price was $80, several weeks later the price of stainless increased drastically and all of the suppliers in my area raised their prices as well. In the end I had to raise the pricing of all heatshields by $15 to still meet our profit margins.

People have mentioned yeah the coated FP Race Manifold is hot as hell.
JMF answered with a heat shield.

So, let's hear from you guys that have ran your FP Race Manifold without the heat shield, and then decided to buy the heat shield:
1. Did you purchase your manifold coated from FP?
2. If not, did you decide to get your manifold coated from someone else?
3. Once coated, were you satisified with the result, or did you buy the heat shield too?
4. From your POV, does the heat shield help out a lot or a little?

I bought mine uncoated from FP and plan to get it ceramic coated.
Does anyone think that the heat shield could benefit from being ceramic coated as well?

Nothing yet & didn't happen to see it in the junk box either but thanks for the reply here. I will be ordering atleast 2 & possible a 3rd, so would that be $25 ea or $25 total, or a different price for quantity?

Some good questions but being this is a GB post, its probably best to post a thread on this elsewhere or in one of the current FP Mani threads so we don't clutter this one up.....

As a side note, I went with the ceramic coated FP Mani & plan on getting my JM Fab heatshield ceramic coated as well, those under hood temps are going down this year

There are 4 spots on the Manifold that are there to be tapped for EGT.
Its really close to the head of the runner near the block.

There is a small gap between the heat shield and your block, but you would have to trim into the heat shield to fully clear the tap.

My Manifold is tapped and I have to trim up on the heat shield to fit in my tap.

$25 would be for 2 heatshields and the 2G MAP adapters you wanted, add $5 per each additional heatshield for shipping.

We are looking into getting a chemical etcher which would actually burn on the logo, SS is not easy to engrave so Im not sure we will go with the "TAG" route.

We have 8 buyers confirmed, I will post an official list later tonight.

Oh yeah Jim, forgot to ask this in my PM, but I'm assuming that you mean you are thinking about getting the etcher soon, so it might be possible to get the logo put on for those of us who get in on the group buy?

Im hoping to get the etching machine before the GB ends so they will all have a small logo some place, just not sure where yet.
