I assume you're referring to the OEM parts catalog. It's the nature of the beast...either A) have an all inclusive parts catalog or B) have a partial listing. Nearly every online OEM Mitsu parts dealer uses the same software.

Hey Chris, from a web designer's perspective - just FYI, you should have your web guy do some more work on the right navigation to make it Firefox compliant. The links are very difficult to read since they're blue on a dark background, the CSS isn't working in Firefox. Looks like it works fine in IE but those of us that hate using IE will have some trouble (there are more people using Firefox these days than you think).

Cross-browser functionality is critical for any online business. One other issue is Search Engine Optimization - your title tags in your catalog should reflect the name of the category you're in. Instead, it just says JNZ Tuning. That's going to hurt you in Search Engine ranking. You also don't have any META Keywords or Description tags, another SEO no-no. I also don't see a breadcrumb trail or a site map. I'd have to question the web designer on all of this, as this is standard practice in web design these days. I'm hoping you didn't pay too much for this OScommerce work... I've been working with that script for years, the things I brought up are not difficult to do.

Oh, and that top graphic is HUGE in terms of file size. You shouldn't have anything that big for the sake of page-load times. Not everyone will be shopping with a blazing fast connection. You could lose a sale very easily that way. I tend to try and keep all graphics like that under 50k if possible. Yours is almost 190k.

Great feedback Chris! I appreciate the tips. I'll past them on to my web guy to see what can be done. As for the banner...that was mostly my fault. I asked for animated gif. Obviously I look at things from the visual perspective since I know nothing about the backend of things.

I'm sure i'll be in touch soon...

The whole css thing was something minor, but had major effects on the site. I looked into it this today and figured out the problem. I didn't close out one of the css lines with a } symbol like they are suppose to be. Everything is working in css now though. It's something I failed to check and was my fault. Either way it's working right now. Working on the other stuff mentioned above as well.

As for the OEM catalog, I have no control of any of that like Chris (11secDSM) mentioned because it is a third party software.

Thanks for all the feedback so far. I really do appreciate it.

The OEM catalog is very frustrating. For example I'm trying to find throttle body and throttle body elbow gaskets: I can select my vehicle (1992 Galant VR4), and click fuel system>fuel induction>throttle body. I get this message: No items were found in this catagory.

Now if I go to caps and look up the P/N, and manually enter it into the search function of the OEM catalog, I get what I'm looking for. It's listed right where I just looked under: fuel system>fuel induction>throttle body. Am I doing something wrong?

Another thing that is frustrating is having to do two separate transactions and two separate accounts, between the OEM catalog and the main site. I think adding the more popular OEM parts into the catalog on the main site(like it used to be) is a much better way of doing things.

The old system was much easier to use and navigate. I've spent about 20 minutes trying to find the throttle body gaskets, and trying to figure out why my account login wasn't working on the OEM catalog. I guess I might be a little picky, but I just prefer the old system much better.

Thanks for the feedback. To be honest, I can see many improvements that can be made to the OEM catalog. Unfortunately, it's not ours to change. I'll definitely be looking for different options when the subscription runs out.

Let me ask you this. If you had the option of a partial listing of parts incorporated within our main catalog OR a complete catalog that is seperate which would you choose? We're definitely looking to tailor the site to YOUR needs.

First, thanks for the help guys. I've been nagging Eric about my castle plug (which didn't show up yet btw ) for the past 3 days and he's been more than patient with me.

As far as gripes, I can see where Luke is coming from. I was thoroughly annoyed trying to log into the "new site" until I realized that my old email/password only worked on the OEM catalog to login and check my order status. Another thing is that Eric confirmed that one of my orders was shipped, but the OEM website still lists it under 'processing' when most other websites change it to 'shipped' and then 'delivered'. I suppose this would have to do with linking it to the fedex or ups website that you'd go through and their system.
