Well Im going to contact the ebay seller to see whether theyre shipping the PR pipes or the ebay pipes. Going to send the screenshots of both to let them see what we're talking about (the differences in piping).

So if you could send me the link to HIS specific item number he won, it would be great.

when i got my kit, it had CRX on it and i ordered it threw PR. There is a topic that PR gets there kits from CRX etc. the pipes are different, as with the Bov pipe in the CRX kit will allow you to install it in an Auto as its 2 different pipes and can use what ever one you wanted to get it to the side of the FMIC, PR's is solid 1 pipe that is made for MT's.

and once again, i repeat myself. It didnt work for me, maybe your buddy and you got the upgraded kit, as PR and CRX (i have emails from both companys) where working to make a new AT/MT pipe and since you got yours months after mine, maybe you did. Who knows, I know it didnt work no matter what i did. Glad yours went well, Mine did not.

Ok so I went on ebay and sent ''ETDMotors'' an email regarding the differences in piping between their kit and the PR kit. It was a lengthy email with links of pics to the PR kit as well as their own kit.

I also asked them if I could CHOOSE to get the PR pipes instead of the generic ones for the same low price.

I also asked them if ETD was actually CX Racing but under another name (ETD Motors) for eBay.

This is what I received within 6 hours of sending:

Dear jjrock5,

Maybe you need this one:
95-99 Eclipse Talon 2G DSM Intercooler kit BOV Bolt on:eBay Motors (item 170399206600 end time Nov-01-09 19:14:30 PST)

- etdmotors

As you can see, ETD also sells the SAME kit as PR even down to the ''better'' pipes. The cost shipped for this kit is ~$400. The PR kit shipped is ~$390. I may as well buy it from PR (if I wanted the better piping)and help out the DSM community AND save 10 bucks.

I expected a reply with a bit more in-depth especially about their name.

So in summary, I can confirm that DSMJ89's friend was really just a lucky s.o.b. and ETD Motors probably made a mistake and sent him the 'better' pipes.

I feel you on that. That is exactly what I am still on the stock smic. No one makes pipes to fit the Auto's. As if they did not know Auto Turbo's existed or something. But hey, its cool if they don't want my money. I'll just spend it else where and most likely on a supra smic with hard pipes.

Does anybody have pics of the PR kit with a GM MAF blow-thru setup?

It looks like it would be a tight fit, if even pissible.

Funny it was mentioned. My friend and i were talking about it when i was putting on his fmic.
It will deffinately fit, just cut enough to let the gm maf sit nice and flush, of course have the couplers already on and then slide them on.

Yup most all the ebay ones "similar" to the PR kit, you've got to modify the piping to make it fit, hence why it's cheaper.

Just do yourselves a favor and get a PR Kit!!!! well worth their selling price and excellent customer service! That is worth it in itself.

I bought mine from ETD motors.

Pipes fit GREAT and it looked identical to PR's kit.

Went on without a hitch couplers fit perfect T Clamps worked beautifully not a single issue. I didn't know much about PR and my kit was all of 199 shipped out the door. Props to those guys for such a great product from stealbay

When did you buy this kit? $199 is even cheaper than the fmic with 'universal' piping on ebay. Do you have a link? I find it hard to believe that it has identical piping as PR.

I don't have a link, i think after shipping it was 229.

And no it WASN'T universal the piping was MADE for the 2g. Haad the nipple for 16g installation and everything. Pipes and couplers went on beautifully, as well as the throttle body elbow.

I told you guys my friend had the same piping kit as PR !
Not to put PR down but they should start lowering the price of their fmic's cause to me it's sort of inflating their price for no reason when people are getting the same exact kits for MUCH MUCH less on ebay.
And the bar you can just go to home depot and pay $13 for it and done like i did on my friend's spyder.

Well yes that makes two ppl who have gotten the nice pipes but that doesn't mean we are all getting that same setup if we buy the eBay kit. I don't think I'd be willing to take that chance but maybe I will. One thing I'll say, I just noticed they priced their fmic at $399 not $369. I know it was a sale but it would benefit sales if they kept the price at a lower rate.

Maybe they should lower their fmic pricing. It'll probably drive in more sales to them.

Technically, the ebay seller should raise his prices. Even at $399 this kit is awesome for the price, considering that many other kits go for $800 or more.

I agree boostjunki, i would see why ebay should raise it as there are still people who are willing to pay the $370 for the kits, but the majority of the people who rather buy the kit on ebay outnumber the "bigger ballers" if you catch my drift, lol.

I agree. That's the problem. People want great parts but don't want to pay for them. Everyone forgets the R&D that goes into them and the fact that thier is a business that has to be run as well. The bottom line is the more funding a company has the more R&D and new parts it can make for our community.

If you want someone to lower thier FMIC prices, you can call BR or ETS and tell them to lower thier prices.

I bought my kit roughly two months ago.

My friend with a 2g bought one as well.....no mistakes he the game same exact stuff i got with mine. They simply are selling the same kit for way less.

A Friend of mine in canada is running this intercooler setup and made roughly 400hp. And he said it was doing just fine. Who knows what it could push. My goal right now is 350 or better.

Has anyone mounted the PR FMIC kit on a 2gA eclipse/talon? The kit comes w/the bar to hold the ic on- but there are also two tabs that come along. The 2gB talons have a place for the bar to bolt right onto w/the existing holes already drilled. The 2ga's do not- do you have to drill your supports for the 2ga install?
