Long story short a month ago I was driving on the freeway doing about 75-80 when all of the sudden the car lost what felt like all power and I couldn't push the car past 55-60, the car sounded like it was driving with all it's might but only doing 60. I thought that I had heard a knock, I attributed this to either throwing a rod bearing, or crank bearing, and possibly throwing the timing. I left the car parked for a month without touching it, today I went back and started my car, first thing I noticed is there is no knock, either I was just hearing things from thinking the worst or something happened and then magically went away, either way there is no knock sound, so I checked if the car would run right and still the car had no power. I had encountered something similar once before when I blew off one of my intake hoses, so I went and made sure that hose and the other one on top were still connected which they were. Next thing I did was a quick check on timing, everything looks to be on time, but I did notice 2 things, one was that my belt that goes to the ac had broke, second my crank pully was doing some dancing, which I'm pretty sure means that it's starting to seperate, so no I know I have to replace that, but I don't think that's was causing the main issue. Next thing I do I completely take out my Cat as a friend of mine was telling me that maybe the cat is dead and isn't allowing any exhaust flow which is causing the loss in power, this seemed to make a little difference, but in completely removing the cat I am also not allowing exhaust to flow into the oxygen sensor after the cat, and either way the difference was minimal and the car still had no power. After that I searched DSMtuners to see if anyone had something similar, one of the threads stated to make sure that the wastegate actuator arm was still functioal, so I connected an air tank to the nipple on the internal wastegate and the arm did move, it did only move a little bit so I am wandering if that is normal. since I was already by the turbo I also checked the turbo shaft and it is perfect, spins freely, and absolutely no shaft play. The last thing I am thinking is maybe a boost leak, I don't have a boost leak tester but tommorow I plan on checking all my hoses one by one and making sure there are no cracks and that they are tightly connected, then if that doesn't work I'll get a boost leak tester and see where I am at. Lastly let me say the car does idle pretty good, a little rough but nothing too serious, also at idle I can accelerate and the car sounds good, but as soon as it is moved into gear there is a complete lack of power. Basically I am looking for any advice, troubleshooting tips, or just something I may have missed that I should look into. Thanks in advance.
