Ssac here. Works great, but you have to do some hacking to get the right fit. I'm sure the vendors have great kits as well.

he's proven results from a FFTEC fmic. i put down 444awhp and 389ft-lb torque on a mustang dyno (510-520awhp on a dynojet). also, i went to the track and ran the car about 11 times...i could hotlap the car w/o the intercooler getting hot. ran a best of 11.1@127mph on my first time out at the track.

I'm not saying any of the other kits fail, but ETS is surely the winner :-)
I had an ETS stencil cut just for this purpose so if anyone wants us to add our logo, just ask and it will be done

Just some added input here. I have the SSAC 2G FMIC kit, it has searved me well. I have made 550awhp on it. I have also sold a ton of them to members here, check my feedback. It works well but it is still china town. For my next setup I am looking for some top notch shizzel, I dont want to cut any corners... I am going with the ETS 5" thick core. I am looking to make some real power and ETS has some real product research and devolopment. I have shoped the options and for Product, Price and Service ETS cant be beat. I have already called and talked to Tom several times with questions and he has been great.

I highly recomend ETS!

ETC Street Kit and I love it. I'm still on a Big 16g now so when I upgrade turbos I'm just gonna swap in their Race intercooler and keep on going.

I'm running the SSAC with a few custom mods to get it per my approval. (Hacked the 1G flange for a Greddy, modified the lower pipe, modified bracketry a bit.) But in all honesty for $290 shipped to my door I made a great decision. I'd definitely do it again.

5" thick core? Holy crap, that's huge. Do you have a link for it, I couldn't find it on their website.
Thanks!

They have a lot of stuff that's not on the site. Last time I checked 4" thick cores weren't there either but they do make them. Pretty much unlimited custom options.

Hey Tom, in the other thread you told me to shoot you a PM if I were interested in the specifics of your cores since they are unlike any other on the market. Can you post it here or send me a PM, whichever you prefer. I was considering SSAC but decided the no compromise route as well. Right now I 'm torn between one of yours and the 24x12x4 Garrett that Buschur, AMS and others utilize on their EVOs. If I can stuff thicker than 4" core in a 1G I 'm all for it. I 'd be very interested in the performance comparison #s which you probably don't have. Just in case. Thanks.

We've been around since before your DSMtuners join date, just weren't vendors on this forum until early this year We'll be here when you're ready to reclaim your fogs!

Thanks!

We don't list the 5" because it will require HEAVY modification to your bumper cover for fitment. As most of you know we make every effort to fit the best possible performance within the confines of your other OEM equipment for a clean install. Since the 5" doesn't fit that very well it's not a production unit per se, but we will happily build it for anyone needing that large of a fridge

You're welcome to call me for the exact specifics on the internal/external fin design of our core, but because it's unique to our intercoolers we want to keep from posting the design on the forum. The Garrett core is actually a fair bit shy of 4" thick though Garrett advertises it as such. I believe 3.75" was the thickness we've measured. You can fit a full 4" thick in a 1G as its been done with our cores several times, but anything thicker will require rather extreme bumper cover cutting. We'll build it if you want to go that wild

I have the Kinetic FMIC / SBR 1G Race FMIC. The piece and piping are totally top notch BUT. When I ordered it from SBR it arrived all messed up like they kicked the core around on their shop floor, they wouldn't replace it Dicks. It's a good frontmount though.

Two different sets of pipes entirely.

Also if you have any issue's with our products please contact us directly I think you will find we stand behind all the parts we sell and go out of our way to make sure all our customers are happy. Comments left on the forums doesnt tell us if there is an issue of some sort, if this hadnt been on the front page I would have never seen it.

ETS you will not be dissapointed.

One of the few kits that lets you keep stock fogs due to the Core not being to big [but fills the whole in my 2gb bumper perfect] and the way they route there piping.

Completely customable, you can choose what medal what finish what flanges and turbo setup.

And then you pick your core size depending on your final goals.

Customer service was instant and shipping came in 3 days.

The welds and overall quality is amazing.

And you can tell they know what they are doing with there routing when everything fits perfectly between two areas that are only 1/4th of an inch bigger then the pipe with no trouble.

I dont know if all of this let alone a few of these could be said about any other FMIC out there.

ETS

I had my Dejon Race core for a few years now and I noticed on their website they said it dynoed 670whp with it... Does anyone know the guy who dynoed with this Fmic? I was thinking it might be time to upgrade my IC with a 3.5 or 4 Inch for the 2.4L and T-67dbb..

NOT SLOWBOY!!! My friend bought their "race fmic" a couple of months ago. It cost $1k and blew the welds on the core and they refused to exchange it or fix it for free! He was only boosting 31 psi on a damn race fmic.

Btw, I have an ssac and it works great. Quality is surprisingly good. (I have yet to see a thread about a bad one).

I have not bought a FMIC from PR/Tim but a O2 housing that we had a problem with. He went out of his way and bent over backwards to make it right. It is still on the car, straight up daily driver, 1 year later and perfect.

I got the VR Speed kit for $300 shipped. It is essentially the SSAC kit but with better couplers, clamps, hardware, and pre-drilled mounting holes. This thing is massive and fitment was great. They guarantee fitment and it fit like a glove. They are vendors on here as well.

Hows the VR speed fmic on 2g autos? Good fitment? No cutting or bending/moving of anything?

I have an aftermarket trans cooler that I was able to move around in order to get the right inlet to line up. If you still have the factory trans cooler in the driver side air damn location, it has to be moved. Other than that, you need to obviously cut out a portion of the radiator support. Very easy install, very short piping, excellent quality. Oh yea, and the core is huge!
