I just set up my draw through MAFT setup for the 2g and i have a few problems. I bought the translator second hand and dont have the instructions, so so far i have been pretty much guessing what the knobs do.
There are 4 knobs in a row and one knob higher up on the left. There is also a little red box with 4 flip switches in it. I assume they control things like the size of the MAF and fuel cut..etc.
So i thought maybe the first knob in the row was for setting it to your injectors. The second knob i thought is idle control, followed by the next knob being mid and the last being WOT. And i have no idea what the knob on the left is.

So the problem begins that i can idle decently as well as WOT decently. But no matter what i turn the knobs to i cant get the cruise to run right. It runs really lean at about .04-.06V consistantly. I cant get it to move from that point at all.

Also my timing goes up to 30 degrees and moves around in the 20's when i give it any good amount of gas. Im really new to tuning and i have no idea how to get the timing lower.

Can anyone tell me what all the knobs and switches do or point me to some online instructions. Also i spliced into a wire for the tach signal that was white with silver tracers, is this a correct wire?

I know its a lot of questions but i need a lot of help. Anything would be greatly helpful because my car is running like shit now.

It worked earlier. I think you have to link it through the translator files on Yahoo. I just clicked on it from here and it didn't work, but when I go through Yahoo it works.

Go to www.yahoogroups.com then search for dsmtranslator. Once you get to that page, look on the left and click on Files. The file name is TranslatorDSM.doc click that and that will give you the instructions.

what wire do you tap into for the rpm on the translator. I opened up the slit plastic cover near the fuse box with like 30 wires in it. I used the one my friend had told me the white with silver tracer. Is this right?
