Logger and Hotsync

I have searched and failed to fix my problem, I can't seem to hotsync my palm to my laptop with windows 7. It says com1 will be available when hotsnc manager activates or something, please help.

right click the bottom right on your laptop where the cable icon is. Then make sure to select serial or whatever type of plug it is using. I always forget this step.
