tuning the afc

What about us poor folk with no logger? I was thinking of wiring an led from the ecu connector off the knock sensor and then leaning it out until the led lit up then richen it up a couple of percent. Do you think it will work? Would this be an allright for a way to tune with no logger?

I used to ask basically the same question about tuning...until I got a logger. Now I burn through batteries in that thing like Cheech through bud. Get a logger. Cheap, and you will not know how you got along without it.

if you are tuning with an afc, and you dont have a logger, you are tuning in the dark ages. before the logger, you will think it is more money for an accessory. after buying and using the logger, you will say it is the best money you ever spent. it will turn hours and days of tuning with a/f and egt into minutes and seconds, and get much better results.

When i go on the logger site it just looks like i am buying the cables for it and no screen to display the knock etc.. Does that $155 include the screen? I really think im retarded.:p

LOL, yeah, you have to buy a palm pilot of some sort. M100s go for like 50 bucks on Ebay.

So, You hook up the cables from the diagnostic port of the car to the handheld organizer and it tells you everything that is going on with your car? Does it just show up? Or do you have to look under a certain menu?

Sounds simple, youve really convinced me to get the logger, not that i thought it was a bad idea......just how it was explained earlier "more money for another accessory" but now i see that it is reallly useful and is really worth it. Thanks.
:thumb: Hands down..a great mod.
