95 ecu in a 98 with coil on plug

I just got a great deal on a 95 eprom ecu and I am trying to see if it works. I have my cop setup installed right now so is there a way to see if it works with the cop installed? I have read that normally you swap plug wires, so what can I do with the cop? If not I quess I will put the stock coil and plug wires back on and try it. Just would like to know if it is possible with cop. Thanks for any help and hope I am making sense.
