Pulls Timing when over 70/75 degrees? =[

This problem has been on going since ohh february when I got the car, at the time it would pull timing and have me at full boost but standing still. The intake cam was 1 tooth off so I just did a t belt and waterpump this past week after the car sat for 2.5 monthes. Well my timings dead on and the past couple days it has been well over 75 degrees in which the car is a complete dog, however today its about 60/65 and the car has pulled great all day long in all gears, ive been getting on it all day to make sure and it has been great all day....

So to conclude over 70/75 the car pulls madd timing, under that temp, car acts greatt

Any ideas?

Also 13 on the vac gauge normal for a 2g at 9000ft elevation?

Thanks ahead of time.

Dan

Can you post some data-logs of a cool day and a hot day? And 13 in/hg isn't too bad for 9k foot above sea level, as a matter of fact i would consider that decently respectable, so don't worry too much about that. How much vacum can you make when you let off the gas while in gear at 3000 RPM or above?

On decel i pull 17 hg/in (vice versa?) w.e.

And boost wise I hold 11 til 4500 then max at about 13 to redline.

I just took 2 logs that felt considerably different but both were in identical conditions within ~2 minutes of each other.

NOTE** It seams as if when i punch it as soon as im in gear all goes well but if i hold say 3000 rpms for a second and then go WOT it dogs.

I Don't know as much about 2g's as 1g's... But If at 3k And your alt. 9k feet up is up there.
if you lean out for a second on spool up You could be Knocking Fairly Easy
Something as simple as the Fuel filter cloged could be your problem
But Anyway Post up some logs ...
The only way your pulling that much Timing IMOA is your geting Knock

Also I'm not sure on your vac. reading since I'm at see level.. But I pull ~25+ on decel and at least 17 at Idle most of the time and I have leaking Intake manifold gasket that I need to go out and repalce right now

Looks as if it is going lean, causing knock, and pulling timing. Stock or aftermarket injectors? Fuel control? Rewired pump? I assume your mod list is correct but you tell me.

when i had my wideband on it before i sold it, i had the exact same symtpoms and have not touched a thing since then and I had 11.7 through boost to redline.

Stock injectors, only fuel control would be the fpr..... which is actually reading 23 psi at idle, however any higher i flooded the car and got RCH (below 10:1) on the wideband

You either have a faulty fp gauge or this could be the root of your problems. At idle with vacuum line removed, fuel pressure is supposed to be 43psi. I would try to find what is causing this problem before I worry about what is causing performance issues.

Get checking that FPR and get your base fuel pressure set correctly, then remap/tune whatever system you're using so it doens't flood the engine, you will probably notice a great improvement just getting the fuel system dialed in correctly

Car wouldnt start this morning, after pulling up the backseat, its the worst wiring job ever for the fuel pump, complete cluster fcuk. When I get home tonight Im going to rewire that and up the fuel pressure see if some decent conections and grounds could help her out... its cold again today ill take my logger out with me and do another one, thaks everyone

well i upped the fuel pressure to 43 (no vac) seams to be running great now, i am running straight wastegate and when i plugged in the BCS i hit 20psi and had a massive back fire resulting in a diesel like cloud =\ im happy with the results until i can get back into mods. Apparently I have an auto ecu from a 97/98 car as Im getting a TCM code.

Also im throwing a TPS code however on the logger all seams to be well.
