Is this a 2g EPROM
More pics for people to hopefully see when searching, because I sitll am not convinced it is or is not an EPROM. The person I got it form pulled it from a 95 GSX, and is a member of these boards, (KillaDSM). I have no doubt he did pull this form a 95 GSX, he has no reason to lie to me, but I can't find the model number on DSMlink.com so.. what do you guys think?
I say yes it is, the eprom is where it is supposed to be at the bottom right, but.. why are the numbers not matching up, anyone know?
thanks!

What numbers are you talking about?
The only ones I knew that matched were the four digits on the white plug inputs and the last four digits of the second row on the white sticker on the outside of the case.

Are you calling me a scammer? lol jk
It has the eprom chip in the correct position so I have no doubt that it is a eprom. But it is strange that the number doesn't match.

Wow, that's weird. You can see there are slight differences between that one and this one. Then again I never really paid attention to other eproms besides looking at the chip.

Just wondering, but since it has the "E" on the outside of the case doesn't it indicate that its eprom inside?

Do you have a link? Because it came out of my buddy's 2g? Does that mean it will still work in his 2g?

So I guess we are all in agreement it is an EPROM, but will it work exactly, and I mean EXACTLY like a 95 GSX EPROM? I don't want to have to sacrifice anything, and I have no idea how a EPROM from another car ended up in KillaDSM's friend's car.
If I could get more chime in from other DSMers, or DSMlink representatives, that be cool

I was just going to say I'd send an e-mail to Tom at ECM Tuning with some pictures and a description and see what he thinks.

Email Thomas Dorris (DSMlink maker). He might have ran into this before with all the work he's done with ecu's.

I think it may be the same as our 2G ECUs, but I can't tell for sure just from pictures. Do you mind sending it in and letting us take a closer look and test it on the bench? I'll include our address below just in case.
Thomas Dorris
ECMTuning, Inc.
Well.. damn.. if Thomas is unable to say if it is a 2g EPROM just by the pictures, I have no idea how it was inside a 2g GSX...
I think I will probably just pass on this eprom, get one I know is from a 2g gsx, pull it out myself

Well I talked to the buddy I got it from today and he said it was in his car when he got it. He didn't touch the ecu the whole time he owned it. But yeah, let me know and I can void the check for you Philip.

Haha yeah, I was thinking if you return it I would try running it in my car to see if it runs or not. But yeah let me know what Thomas says, because I'm very curious to see whats up with the eprom. And you know you can over come over to my side of the bay to kick it.

That picture appears to show a '96 style ECU (MH6311F processor) with an EPROM. I've heard these are really rare, so I'm not sure the ECU will turn out to be a good source for new EPROM ECUs or not. But that's why I'm curious to see it in person. We can look it over carefully here and test it in our cars and let you know 100% if it's compatible or not.
