I searched for a while and read up alot on widebands but dont understand much im new to this stuff. After installing my lc-1 its reading 22.4 at idle on the guage. Thats very lean i think (like i said im new to this) but on the logging software on the computer the gauge was reading alot less from like 11-13 so im lost. When I would hit the gas it would drop down alot less to about 11 or so. Also it would go back and fourth all over the place and then re calibrate itself (if thats what its doing by blinking). So I would like to know why it may be doing this if anyone has had this happen to them please help me out.
 
i'm not entirely sure but i do belive tht the number it is showig is the ratio but it leaves out the ":1" part so actually idleing at 22:1 is normal, and i belive at wot under boost you wanna be at like 11-12:1ish

I am not familiar with the LC-1 reading either, but I would imagine they are all designed to read the same xx:1. Anyways 22:1 is extremly lean, At idle it should fall around 14:1-14.7:1 and at W.O.T. between 11.0:-12.0:1 usaully.
 
I don't even think the car could idle at 22:1 without repeatedly stalling and hunting at idle. The 4g63 ( and most other motors) love to be rich at idle due to poor or slow air velocity at idle not being able to properly fill the chamber. Most every car I've tuned loves a rich idle. You can do it right at stoich, but the idle will tend to fluctuate with everything from the ac compressor kicking on to the alternator loading down. Put em at 12:1 they idle perfect, I shoot for 13:1 on mine for a compromise between good idle and trying not to burn more gas idling than i do at 60 MPH LOL

Anyway, My point is. IT sounds like you have your wide band tapped in after the flex section and the flex is leaking in air from the atmosphere in to the mix. Put the wide band in the front O2 hole and use it's 0-1v linear output to feed info to the ECU. I bet your reading will change by a good bit just from that alone and be more accurate to boot.
 
i tapped the wideband bung infront of the flex section by about 5-6in. Whats confusing me is the fact that the guage reads 22.4 until i hit the gas then it will read fine. At idle it will say 22.4 but on the software it will say around 11-13ish. The gauge used to read fine when idling but now its all messed up what could have happiend:confused:
 
My wideband diifers a slight bit then what DsmLink logs but not THAT much. If it was a leak somwhere I cant see it reading anything past 18.0

Every now and then my car does some dumb shyt at idle and leans WAY out (I have AEM WB02) and the thing will peg lean and not register a # value. If I rev slightly it will read 14.7 for about 2 seconds then go back to lean it will continue to idle bumpy. I wonder if this could be a problem with your IAC or FIAV
 
That could be, when i last scanned my car it came up with some wierd part i never heard of like a manufacture idle air control or something like that anyone know what that is?
 
If it reads as expected any time other than idle I'd suspect an exhaust leak before or near the wideband O2 sensor. If you haven't done a free air calibration recently you might also give that a try to rule out any calibration issues.

My guess would be on exhaust leak though. I just dealt with that myself. I literally watched my exhaust leak grow over time on my wideband. My idle became leaner and leaner over time (weeks) until it got to 24:1, car idled rough, it sucked... but I was waiting for my new flex section to come in the mail and then a bit longer before I could get it welded in.
 
After checking my CEL I found out the only reason it was on was because of code p1104 which is the wastegate solenoid. I dont believe that would have any affect on my wideband or my cars hesitation in 3rd gear at full boost around 4-6 rpms WTF so im kind of out of ideas for now. Oh and I didnt find an exhaust leak so it eliminates that idea aswell.
 
Yes I was also thinking a exhaust leak where the downpipe bolts to the o2 housing. Im running a summit digital gauge its a package deal on there website Summit Racing - High Performance Car and Truck Parts | 800-230-3030. Yes I was reading on the logworks program. Would a boost leak possibly cause the gauge to be reading like this? I do have a small leak I am going to be fixing.

If the guage isn't hooked to the serial connection you use your the laptop with, you may have one of the two outputs configured incorrectly for the guage. Which would make sense given the laptop reading correctly.
