At idle I get like 25-30degrees of timing advance, but when I put it in gear and go timing drops to 0 no matter how much I turn the fuel up!?.

30 degrees of timing at idle is probably a good indication that you need to adjust your base timing.

are you getting idle surge? are the rpms above 1000? if you are idling at ~750rpms i dont think its possibly to get 30 degrees of timing advance
