I just got dsmlink like 3 days ago. and it is truely phenominal... I don't come from tuning w/ AFC but w/ MAFT but the consept is the same. I had to "detune" my brain from working w/ maft (piggybacks) to working w/ the ecu. In other words, I don't need a translator to suck the ecu into doing something it doesn't know its doing. I can communicate directly w/ the ecu and tell it what i want in terms I understand and the ecu then goes and does it
EDIT: BTW, getting the ecu to do something that it doesn't know it's doing can get you into trouble, i.e. safc: makes ecu run high timing at high boost because you told the ecu that there is less air coming into the engine so that you can lean it out
