VPC IAT on intake pipe

just wondering...I am changing my setup and don't want to tap the UIP for the VPC's IAT, it looks too nice to kill it ...so, what If I put it on the intake pipe??? I've seen that most stand alones have it there...also the temps should change in relation to each other...except at wot...so..anyone have tried this?
