Fuel Cut Defender Question?

I'm going to attempt the 10K resistor mod on my 1G MAF later tonight/tomorrow. I just want to make sure I have everything right about it: Your supposed to install a 10K resistor in line with the intake temp wire (which already has some sort of resistor or something on the wire right, to help me identify it, does anyone know a color offhand?). And after doing this I've heard that it can make tuning easier and also prevents fuel cut, is that correct? Since its gotten colder out I can only run 15lbs of boost w/o hitting fuel cut, how much will I be able to turn it up, if any? Thanks a lot, Erick
