I can't believe it actually didn't rain Saturday night. Me and Boosted were out. I ended up breaking my crank pulley. Thanks again Kawboy for saving the day. Car drives great now.

Hey everyone hows it going. Been a member of this site for some time now. Just browsed over to thr tri state forum and saw the TR thread exploding. Had no idea there were so many people in the area with DSMs. I've got a red 99 GST right now. Could use a little work with some things. Mainly the squeaky belt that won't go away. Kinda bummed I missed the cruise with you guys on that gorgeous weekend we just had. But then again, I'm probably not gonna hit up 37 till I get the belt issue fixed. If anyone can lend me a hand I'd definitely appreciate it.

I just fixed my belt issue. Alternator belt was loose due to a stripped lock bolt. Do you know which belt is making the noise? Have you recently replaced them? Need some more info to help you.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it is the Alternator belt. Because it squeaks when you start it up and if you hit the lights, heat or rear defogger it will start again. This is probably my 3rd belt in 2.5 years. I really cannot stand it, makes me wanna not drive my car sometimes.

Are you sure you are tensioning it properly?

I've never done it myself, I had one of my friends do it the first time when it snapped on me. Took it to a shop the most recent time and they changed one of the pulleys. Its usually good for a few months afterwards, but slowly creeps back.

Then it is probably the tensioner. It sounds like over time it starts to loosen up on you. You may have a stripped lock bolt.

Well that may be it, idk. Not even close to a mechanic. I just wanna get rid of it, can't stand it right now. Neighbors probably hate me now.

Well I went to Wildwood over the weekend. Everyone there is pretty much an asshole. We were driving the strip in Kyle's Talon and everyone was saying to light the tires up and gave us the face when we said "AWD." Everyone had beer muscles. However, we did meet up with 1fastlaser, accidentally lol. That turbo is bigger than my head!

My favorite line that day was "I got more power in my DREMEL". HAHAHA. That would be great Steve as long as I get time to fix my exhaust leak and throttle body.

I think that's Sean's friend. I saw that Z06 there too. That thing is no joke though. Looks like I will need a couple more hundred horsepower before I start messing with them lol. I didn't realize he was related to the guy in the STi though. That made the trash talking less funny.

I killed 4th gear last night mopping up a 750 on the highway. Second run he wanted to go again, had 2 cars on him and clicked 4th and it free revved. Got off the exit to go back to this car meet i was at, and heard metal stuff floating around. put it in 4th and let the clutch out...it was like neutral !!! I just laughed, drove to my work and got the evo, drove my buddy back to the meet.

I love these cars, its great because im completly numb to transmissions breaking at this point.

Its already a fully built dogboxracing trans with evo 3-4th and new input and intermediate shaft, trans has about 1k miles in it. im good friends with alex and chris, so it helps with time in need like always. I called them yesterday, and they always love my call. Im sure it took out the gear under pure torque, if its not going to hold the power its gonna tell you right away.

I dont care ever, because all these "built" transmissions are is stock rebuilds with best factory parts in them, and better tolerances. When your cars making 500+ ft lbs of torque its only a matter of when its going to break.

I do them alot of favors lol, and advertise for them so i get the hook up so it dosent bother me helping out, and keeping them occupied.

Boost leak around intake manifold

So I don't feel like starting a new thread for this. I did a boost leak test and had a leak at the throttle body gasket - fixed that. Tested it again and I can here air gushing out some where under/around the intake manifold. The weird thing is I can pressurize the system over 20psi and boost drops off slowly like it should. ? I can not find where the air is coming from. I also don't understand how it can be so loud, yet the boost drop off is slow (1psi per second). The BISS leaks but that is no big deal and it's not the main leak. Any suggestions?

I had a intake manifold gasket leak like that, also gotta make sure thers no random leaking vacuum lines under there. I dont doubt the intake manifold gasket though.
