2.4 w/split thrust bearings

well i pulled the head on my 2.4 7 bolt and with 300 miles on the last rebuild there were some nasty scores in the cylinder walls. not sure what from. so as far as i am concerned i am running on borrowed time. now i am looking for another 7 bolt 2.4 and i was wondering if any one knows when they started makeing them with the split thrust bearings.
