I'm a nut about cars in general, not only DSM's. I grew up around my dad and his pals rebuilding WWII era MG's, and going to MG shows with them. This is a show I went to last year, and thought I'd toss it out there for anyone who didn't know about it. It's a concours in the same vein as Pebble Beach, etc., and last year did not disappoint. Ultra-rare production and one-off vehicles from the late 1800's through the 1960's were there last year...Bugatti, Voisin, Minerva, Stutz, and Pierce-Arrow to name a few. Custom-bodied European and American makes from the 20's and 30's, street and race cars, and motorcycles. All in pristine condition. It was pretty amazing to see all that automotive history and, from my point of view, it's the automobile as a form of art as well.
It's coming up the weekend of August 30-31. Last year was pretty spectacular, and well worth the forty bucks to get in, so I have no doubt that this year will be as well. Looks like this year will have 190 cars and 60 motorcycles, with an emphasis on the history of Vincent bikes, in the show itself. Last year there was also a side show in a parking lot with exotics and other goodies. I'll definitely be getting out there again.
Here's a link to the photos I took last year.
