Not too complicated, line the flares up, make some marks, cut the fenders, drill some holes, bolt them on.

I'm going to finish wiring my megasquirt, install some koni yellows + GCs, and with any luck, have my car sent off to a local shop that wants to use my car to prototype a CNC exhaust manifold for our cars

Going to buy another GSX (and keep the GS-T as a daily driver :P!), ordering buschur racing stage 3 shortblock/cylinder head when I get to germany ^^? Since I'll be in germany for the next 3 years, it gives me ample time to complete the GSX (1g or 2g, thats the question?) By the time the GSX gets back to the states, it should be quite ready to hit the track in the 10's! ^^.. At least that's what I'm hoping for, all depends on how the wife reacts to all this stuff.. Haha! If I can just find a nice mirage I can get her off my back! Then I'll throw a 6 bolt in that too.. Haha!

I am thinking about building a front cross member out of aluminum and the support brackets from the front to the supension cross member. Has anybody built these? I think I can lose some weight in the front end.I have a 55% front and 45% rear weight balance.

Lordy, another misguided drag racer!
Dude, take that beast down to Nurburgring and run a few laps with it (20 euros a lap, I hear). You'll forget all about drag racing.

Hopefully cure mine of all the coolant leaks that keep randomly popping up. Only 1 month to do it, since my season starts (tentatively) on January 5th, with Son of Sno*Drift. Goal for '08 is to avoid what happened in '07, with SoSD being the one and only rally I made it to, due to many random failures on the car.
Also looking at picking up a new Mustang to have something reliable to drive to work since both my Eclipse and MR2 have become so unreliable.

Haha, speaking of which.. that is on my list of things to do.. going to Kaiserslautern, about a 2 hour drive from Nurburgring.. ^^.. That was one of the reasons for picking germany in the first place, if I don't end up in Iraq before I get to go.. Haha! Now, as far as forgetting drag racing.. haha, my dad would never let me live that one down, besides.. waiting for the day to get back home to walk all over his camaro with the DSM.. (you know how the old guys are, most of them are only 1320 oriented..) Haha.. can't wait to see the look on his face.... but for sure ganna hit nurburgring, I'll even make a video when I go and get it posted up here.. sooo until then^^!

Coolant leaks, eh? The nastiest one, and the hardest to find and fix, is the line that runs from the water pump behind the turbo. It looks and smells like a leaking water pump, but it ain't necessarily so. On some DSMs, installing a bigger turbo requires putting a dent in the pipe to clear the turbo, and that's where they can break. The last thing you want is for that to bust on you when you are running on boilerplate ice on Flying Volvo* stage at 100+. Sheesh...I can just imagine what would happen if that line bursts, spews onto the turbo, and you get a cloud of steam obscuring your windshield at 100 mph! Ain't rallying fun?
If you are seeing suspicious puddles under the car, check that pipe.
Rich
*I don't know if they run this stage anymore. It was pretty dangerous, because it ran on a paved road leading to a fishing camp on Lake Michigan. The road is closed and not plowed in the winter, so it accumulates boilerplate ice and snow on the pavement. Pretty dang tricky, especially since you can easily reach 100 mph on the straight sections.

Having been lucky enough to drive the Nürburgring, I couldn't agree more.

Actually I'm just going to do the TSD event and not the full-out one. I started building my car for the full-out version, but between getting jerked around by last minute rule changes, the ridiculously small restrictor I'd have to run, and the sheer expense, I decided to forget it. If the car ever gets reliable enough, I'll go run the Targa Newfoundland instead.
Anyways, no more coolant leaks from over on that side of the car. I currently appear to have coolant leaking out of the bottom of my battery and out of the inlet on my SMIC Obviously, that's quite absurd, but I haven't yet figured out how the coolant is getting to those 2 locations yet...
