I have a problem with my drivers window. When I roll it up,it gets about 3/4 the way up and the top-rear corner will pop right out of the track that goes up the door.I'm able to make it go up ok when I hold the window back with one hand and roll it up with the other.Maybe I just need to clean the slides up the door? Or possibly a new window track assembly inside the door panel? P.S,they are manual windows.Thanks.

The same thing happens with my driver's side window and I always just put my hand on the window to guide it up. I never thought about cleaning the tracks. I've got power windows though, hopefully its the same problem though.

I'm sure you must have the same problem as me.I've seen other DSM's that have problems with their drivers window.Let me know how you make out with yours.I'm gonna try to fix mine at work today since there's nothing to do.

My car had to put in its 2 cents the last time i drove it, about a month ago. It was raining HARD and it started to do that. I took the valve cover off that night and she hasnt been anywhere since. Thanks for the link Defiant, saved my ass 2 minutes of searching when i actually care about small things like that on that bi***. :thumb:

I had to re-align everything when my driver side window got smashed/broken into.

The new glass I put in would stick. The rubber track guides were all messed up/bent around. I straightened them out, cleaned 'em out, and put some dielectric grease in there (it's what I had) really thin with a q-tip.. It's worked great. It stays in the track, and goes up/down much faster than the passenger side.

BTW I have power windows. Be careful taking the inner door panels off if you're going to get all up in the mechanism. It's easy to break the little plastic clippy things, and such. Also try not to rip the tarred plastic sheeting too, it keeps moisture out. Don't drop it in the dirt either, what a pain...

Thanks for your help guys,I cleaned the front and rear slides and the window goes up quite well now.The odd time,it pops out near the top,but I just roll it back down about an inch and roll it back up with no problems.I did it relatively fast when it wasn't busy at the shop so I'll just spend more time on it later to perfect everything. Thanks again.
