i took off the cover on top of the timing and pushed on the belt between the cam gears. and the intake cam moved and the belt didn't feel like it had alot of tension on it. well i finished taking off the timing belt cover and i noticed that the timing belt was about to jump a tooth on the crank sprocket. i checked all of my valves and none of them are bent. but why would this just happen, i just replaced the belt also, i was taking it all apart again to fix a oil leak that i should of done to begin with, but it was tensioned properly when i put it on. would this possibly be the tensioner?

how many miles does the auto tensionser have on it? and did you tighten the tensioner pully to spec? it may have sliped some. what i would do is pull the covers off and do the drill-bit test, this should give you and idea on if its the tensioner.
