burnt wire under dash

well first of all stupid me didn't turn the ignition key off when i pulled the distributer out when i was turnin it for timing and it zapped me......the next thing i knew my car was filled with smoke and the wire that ran to my aftermarket amp meter......burnt up was this a power surge or should i look into this?????

yeah it still runs bout as goos as it did b4 i did all that.....kinda pisses me off that i can't figure out why it don't run
