Okay,

I have a 1996 eagle talon awd and I swaped out the motor with a 1992 engine.

I am now getting a mulitple miss fire code all the time and the car misfires only when I am driving around 3k rpm.

If I drive at 2500 or 4000 it will not miss, if I drive at 3000 it will start to miss. If I turn off the key then turn it back on, the miss goes away for a minute

If I throttle down and take it out of gear it wil go away for a minute

HELP!!!!:barf:

You have random misfire! The plague that follows just about every six-bolt swap out there.

You have two possible solutions.

#1) The Right Way: Go invest in a Standalone ECU system and go figure it out.

OR

#2) The Cheap, but Works Way: Unplug the throttle position sensor. This is what I did. I didn't have the cash for a standalone ECU (Still don't even), and the Barometer mod seemed really, really risky. Someone had said something about unplugging the TPS sensor, so I did that. 2k miles later, more than a few trips to the revlimiter, the car still runs perfect and hard. There's a little bit of an issue decellerating around the 2-3k range, but it's unnoticeable after a while

Sure, I've got a CEL (No doubt from the various issues of the sixbolt swap), but the car drives fine.

Good luck.
