I start the car. Runs fine. No smoke. I'll let it run for about 10 mins and give it a little gas, and i get smoke. I almost positive it smells like buring oil. Could i have a bad seal in the turbo? Any opinions? Thanks

mine does the same thing, on mine it is the turbo. You can tell by removing the intake pipe where it attaches to the intake, look at the inside of the tube, if its got oil in it , the turbo is where its coming from.

Yup, I got the same issue. Feel bad when this happens in traffic...a good lookin car and then the smoke comes out...ouch...not good.

I removed the air intake to the turbo and found nothing. Clean...super clean. I am guessing a seal within the turbo??? not sure. Maybe the oil line that connects to the turbo is leaking!

Will be checking this in the upcoming week.

Anyone else with the same problem...and maybe corrected it?

Will

Had similar symptoms when I kinked my oil return line on my new turbo. Unkinking it resolved the problems.

My research on this says that if it's not the turbo, it's most likely the valve seals or the piston rings, in that order. Hope that helps.

Hmmm. Well, i ordered a new turbo about 2 weeks ago. I guess when i take the old one off and inspect it, i'll find out if that's the problem. thanks for the info. BTW, i check the intake tube and it was clean.

I had the same problem and it was the turbo. The drain in the turbo was clogged from not timing the turbo and boiling the oil after the car is turned off.TURBOAUTO.COM replaced everything except for the housings for 380 bucks. They can also inspect your turbo for you if this helps.

I had the same problem...I replaced the valve stem seals and it doesn't smoke a bit. If it was the turbo seal you'd get some smoke under full boost, too.

Sorry guys, still waiting for some decent weather to begin work on the turbo lines. When completed, I will take pictures of before and after. Till then...come on nice weather.
